MATERIALS:

Approximately 10 oz. Peaches & Cream worsted weight cotton
Size G Hook
21 Wooden beads
NOTE: Do not count starting chain as stitch nor work into starting chains
Ch 42


Rnd 1 - 2 HDC in 3rd ch from hook & each ch to last ch. 3 HDC in last ch. Working down other side of ch, HDC in each chain to last ch. 1 HDC in same space as 1st 2 HDC = (84 HDC). Join with sl st to 1st HDC (not ch.) ch 3 turn

Rnd 2 - DC in same st as joining. DC in each HDC around. (84 DC) Join. Ch 3, turn

Rnd 3-4 - FPDC in same st as ch 3 and in next 2 DC. *BPDC in next 3 DC. FPDC in next 3 DC. Repeat from * 14X. Join. Ch 3, Turn.

Rnd 5 - 6 - BPDC in same at as ch 3 and in next 2 sts. *FPDC in next 3 sts, BPDC in next 3 sts. Repeat from * 14 X

Rnds 7 - 22 - Repeat rnds 3 - 6 (4X) Join ch 3, turn.

Rnds 23 - 24- Repeat rnds 3 & 4. Join, ch 3. Do not turn.



FLAP - Rnd 25 (BPDC in next 3 sts, FPDC in next 3 sts) 6X. BPDC in last 3 sts. Ch 3, turn.

Rnd 26 - 27 - (FPDC in next 3 sts, BPDC in next 3 sts) 6X. FPDC in last 3 sts. Ch 3, turn

Rnd 28 - 29 - Repeat rnd 25

Rnd 30 - 33 - Repeat rnds 26 - 29

Rnd 34 - 35 - Repeat rnd 226 - 27

Rnd 36 - repeat rnd 25. Ch 1. Do not turn.



EDGING - Rnd 1 - SC down side of flap, across front of bag edge, up other side of flap and across front edge of flap putting 2 SC in each corner of flap. Join. Finish off.



FRINGE - Cut 42 lengths of yarn approximately 12 � long. *Pull 2 lengths through 1st SC on front edge of flap. Even up to half on each side, run bead onto the 4 ends and up to flap edge. Knot under bead. Skip 1 SC - Repeat from * across to end. Trim Fringe.



STRAP - Cut 12 lengths of yarn approximately 6-7 feet long (Better to long than to short). Divide into 3 sections. Braid (as long as you want your handle to be and twice the depth of bag).

Tie ends firmly. Turn bag inside out. Start on inside cornet at the bottom, sew braid to bag bottom corner and to top and at 1 or 2 other places. Keep braid straight while running it to the other side. Sew end of braid to inside bottom corner and to top and at 1 or 2 other places.

I made a liner with a back pocket of unbleached muslin to fit bag part.
