![]() Hi, I'm Pat and I would like to share with you my love of Crochet. I love to crochet. I cannot just sit and watch TV without crocheting. I keep my bag beside my chair with a works in progress. I take it along when I go out to sit on the porch or deck. I take it on trips and anywhere I might have to wait. My closet is stuffed with yarns and threads in clear plastic tubs. My chair side table has a cup for the extra hooks that won't fit into my 2 hook cases. I have a file cabinet to keep my patterns. No mistake about it ... I am addicted. When I was a child I would watch my Grandmother make popcorn squares for bedspreads. She couldn't read so she never had a pattern to go by. I guess it was all from memory. I wasn't interested in learning any more than just the basics at that time. When I was in my early 20's I bought a book, a hook and a skein of yarn and learned by doing. I made mostly afghans. I found a bedspread pattern in a magazine and wanted to make a curtain for my front window with that pattern. It was my first thread project and made in motifs. I didn't notice it was for advanced crocheters until I had finished it. The way I see it is if you can do the basic stitches, you can make anything. I am still learning new stitches. I just learned to cro-tat and have made a small doily and a bookmark using this technique. I learned the bullion stitch not to long ago. I hope to learn the love knot next. When a person quits learning new things they just get old. ![]() Some of my favorite links:
