Size: About 12 inches
Material: 4-ply worsted weight yarn (approximately 3 oz.)
Size H crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill stuffing
1 - 1 1/2 inch pompom for tail
2 animal eyes - 12 mm - lock tight washer
1 animal nose - 15 mm - lock tight washer
Head & Body: work in rounds marking first st of each round.
Rnd 1: ch 2, 6 sc in second st from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around ( 12 sc)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next) repeat around (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (sc in each of next 2 st, 2 sc in next) Repeat around (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (sc in each of next 3 st, 2 sc in next) Repeat around (30 sc)
Rnd 6: (sc in each of next 4 st, 2 sc in next) Repeat around (36 sc)
Rnds 7-18: Sc in each sc around (36)
Rnd 19: (sc in each of next 4 st, 2 next 2 sts together) repeat around (30 sc)
Rnd 20: (sc in each of next 3 st, 2 next 2 sts together) repeat around (24 sc)
Rnd 21: (sc next 2 sts together) repeat around (12 sc)
Rnd 22: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 23: (starting head) (2 sc in next st) repeat around (24)
Rnd 24: (Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next) repeat around ( 30)
Rnds 25-34: Sc in each st around
Stuff body and place eyes between rnds 31&32 with 4 sts between.
Start stuffing head
Rnd 35: (Sc in next 3 sts, sc next 2 together) repeat around (24 sc)
Rnd 36: (Sc in next 2 sts, sc next 2 together) repeat around (18 sc)
Rnd 37: (Sc in next st, sc next 2 together) repeat around (12 sc)
Finish stuffing head.
Rnd 38: (Sc next 2 together) repeat around (6 sc)
Sl st in next st and fasten off leaving about 10� length for sewing.
Thread tapestry needle with length and run through the 6 st in rnd 38. Draw tight to close and fasten off.
Muzzle :
Rnd 1 : Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook
Rnd 2 : 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Rnd 3 : (sc in next st, 2 sc in next) repeat around (18 sc)
Rnds 4-5 : Sc in each st around.
Fasten off leaving length for sewing.
Fasten animal nose in center of rnd 1. Stuff.
Sew muzzle centered between eyes over rnds 27-30 of head.
Ears (Make 2) :
Rnd 1 : Ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook. Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2 : 2 sc in each st across (6 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 3 : 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 4 sts,
2 sc in last st (8 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 4 : 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 6 sts,
2 sc in last st (10 sc).
Fasten off leaving length for sewing.
Sew ears to top of head over last 4 rnds on each side.
Arms (Make 2):
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next 3 sts, 2 in next) repeat around ( 15 sc)
Rnds 4 - 14: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off leaving length for sewing.
Stuff. Fold ends together and sew onto rnd. 20.
Legs (Make 2) :
Rnd 1 : Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook
Rnd 2 : 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Rnd 3 : (sc in next st, 2 sc in next) repeat around (18 sc)
Rnds 4 - 16: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off leaving length for sewing.
Stuff. Sew on rnds 1-6 at bottom of bear.
Attach pompom to center back on rnd 7 .
For neck you can crochet a simple scarf or
cut one from fleece or just tie yarn or ribbon in a bow.
