I gave birth to a child in 1968 in Duluth, Georgia. @ Joan Glancy Hospital.....records were kept from me and I never even knew if my child was a boy or girl....that too was kept from me, the only thing I was told was that it was healthy and weighed almost 9 lbs. I tried for years to find something out from the lawyer that handled the adoption....but he would only say the baby is doing good and that the family that adopted my baby was good to it and that it had everything I couldn't give at that time......The lawyer's name was Ed Owens....who has long since been deceased. I lost all contact then. I would just like to know if this child has ever known the truth that he/she was adopted.. I hope that before I die I could at least know he/she is alive and doing good. and that I am sorry I made the adoption ...this is something that has been deep within my heart from the moment I signed the papers......maybe he/she doesn't want to know me or could even hate me for the adoption.....but I have love this child and have always remembered that day....I have and will always no matter how he/she may feel about me ...I will love him /her because though I have never seen you or held you .....you grew under my heart for nine months and that is a connection I will never forget........I hope and pray that by sending this letter....by a miracle I will find you!

My friend, Susan Varley, said a lawyer by the name of Philip Armknecht from Red Oak Iowa, now retired, handled the adoption. That is all the information she has because no one else will help her get any more information. This was a very hush hush ordeal because of the family name etc.......Susans family learned she was having a baby when she went into labor (they thought it was appendix at first) anyway being it was hush hush they are not willing to assist her in her search. I am searching for my adopted nephew He was born November 30, 1970 at I think south Hanover General Hospital ( I think that is the name of the hospital) It is located just over the South Hanover Street Bridge in Brooklyn/Baltimore, Maryland. My nephew wasw placed with Catholic Charities and was taken to St. Vincents Childrens Home which I think is in the Towson/Dulaney Valley area. My sister was 20 years old at the time, and unwed. She did give him the name of Daniel Lee as a first and middle name, if she gave him a last name I am not quite sure as I was only about 12 years old at the time, anyway if she gave him a last name it could have possibly been Bauer, that was our last name. I have searched and searched for just a little information, and to no avail. Hi. I live in Oregon, & after reading some of the info. that you have provided, I found out that Oregon already has an open record policy for adoptees. I'm confused about this, because over the years, I have asked at various cout houses in my state how to go about making myself available to be found by my son that I had to give up for adoption in 1974, & they told me that it is almost impossible to be reconnected. All I want, is to let my son know that I love him & always did, & always will, & to let him know that I would love to be reconnected with him if he so desires. Dear Sirs Towards the end of May 1963 I had a son at St Johns Hospital in Enniscorthy. I was 17 and Jewish. The father whose name was Pascal Horan was married with a family in Tralee, but when I met him in London I was unaware of this until I became pregnant and it was his idea to return to Ireland and he got a job in Wexford where we lived and then later in Roslare. I had the baby in Enniscorthy. I do not remember the exact date except that some days later the Pope died. That was 3 June 1963. I think that I was unconscious when the baby was delivered, later I was told that it was a boy but he was stillborn, neither I nor Pascal ever saw him. About a year after his birth I felt this very strong feeling that he was still alive and I have felt that ever since. Recently my husband mentioned about my son to an Irish friend who said that the nuns probably took the baby away as they thought it was the best thing to do, I was only 17 and Pascal would go back to his wife and children. My maiden name was Prewitte, but I may have used the name Lee as my mother had remarried when I was younger, I do not remember. I came from London. I do not remember whether I signed anything or if Pascal did. On the many occasions that friends have made enquiries, they were told that the records office had burned down, this goes as far back as the late 70s. Your help with this almost impossible request would be very much appreciated. My children want to know about their brother and I want to know if he is happy and healthy. Dear Sir I am asking the impossible I know, but I will ask for your help. I had a son at St Johns Hospital towards the end of May 1963. I was knocked out and do not remember the birth. I was told that the baby was stillborn. My partner was told the same, we never saw him and were never asked if we wished to see him. I knew a year after his birth that he was alive, I felt it and have ever since. On mentioning this recently to an Irish friend, he said that they had someone waiting for a baby and my son is probably alive and does not know about me or his father. More so because, although I did not know it until I got pregnant when I was 17 was that my partner Pascal Horan was already married and his wife and children lived in Tralee. I was Jewish and so everything was against us. Although I am now married and have a grown up family with grandchildren, I have never forgotten my son, and everytime I or a friend has made enquiries we have been told that the records office burnt down. I cannot remember the exact date, but I do remember that it was maybe two or three days before Pope John 23rd died, because I remember seeing it on the TV in the hospital. I know I have left it a long time, but it was only recently that I found out the possibilities of what could have happened to my son. I came from London and Pascal and I live firstly in Wexford and then in Rosslare and I had the baby in Enniscorthy. If you need anymore information, I will try and help. Helping Brother find his Birth Family

I am trying to help my brother find his birth family. Here is the info I have on his family. He was born Feb.5 1979 adopted March 1980. It was supposed to be a closed adoption. But we later found out at the age of 18 or 19 that his social security info stated. Birth mother Nancy Reynolds, Birth father Steve Miller. Adopted Mother Sharon A. Smith, Adopted Father John H. Smith, Jr. He was born in Lafayette Home Hospital, Lafayette Indiana. The attorney at the time of adoption was Daniel Teder of Lafayette, In. He was the 5th child born and given up for adoption. We also know that there was at least one child born after him in Kentucky. We also believe that the child after him was a girl. Our father went to Kentucky to try to adopt her also. But was two weeks to late. He found out that she had been given up to the state for adoption. We also know that there was alcohol and drug use in his mothers history. My brother is now 25 and has a whole in his heart and a missing piece to his life. He walks around every day wondering if the person he may be looking at could be his sister, brother, aunt, uncle, mother or father. He mostly wants to know medical history. He would also like to meet his siblings if at all possible. My brother has fought addictions most of his young life and he would like to complete his puzzle.
