ST FRANCIS DAY PICTURES - 2000
I no longer Worship at St Lukes Modbury and have moved to St Mary Magdalene's in the city which is closer to where I live.  These pictures were taken at the last St Francis Day I attended at the church.

I took two chooks to the service that year and Robin decided she would be godmother to one of them.

She wasn't very confident to begin with but once she realised that they were fairly harmless she got to quite liking them.  Mind you Spotty looks like she is being held onto like grim death... not that confident I guess.
Well here are Robin and me with Spotty and Fluffy.  It was the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games that night and so Fluffy got the green and gold treatment with the vegetable dye to become and Olympic Chook in honour of the occasion.  Mind you she was also bathed and blowdried for the occasion... an activity that not necessarily endears me to her.  However she comes up such a soft fluffy white colour that I can't help myself!
We had rats at the service too.  Now I had never been up close and personal with a rat before but Fr Mark our priest was handling one of the visitors and I just got curiouser and curiouser.  Eventually I got up the courage to have one crawl onto my arm and decided...... yes I like these little beasties.  I would love to own one myself but DH has been obstructive and won't consider it under any circumstances.  Fortunately my secret pal sent me a couple of confectionary rats so I don't feel so deprived now.

Fr Mark is wearing a stole I made him last year.
Here is another picture of Fr Mark and friend.  It shows the stole off quite well.
Here is Jane again....being used as an altar frontal on our side altar.  Just had to put another picture of her up!!!!!!
