Freya's Frogs This was a quilt I made for Freya Conran first daughter of Leigh and John When she was little she was always called Freya Frog. So I made her a quilt when she was two called "Freya's Frogs." It has been well used. The pattern I used is from the book "Quilt a Koala" by the great Australian Quilter and Historian Margaret Rolfe. It is the Green Tree Frog pattern from that book It is machine pieced and hand quilted. It is a "happy quilt" in that the edges are waving at you but a lot of quilting water has been under that bridge! We live, quilt and learn!!!!!

Frilly Fracas This quilt was made for a competition held by the Silver City Quilters of Broken Hill Australia. The theme was outback fauna. I chose to make two frill necked lizards. The drawing came from a book (I cant draw to save my life) and it was hand appliqued and quilted. The name came from my DH. He was in the Australian Army and was out on exercise one day desparately trying to attack the enemy when in the middle of THEIR war another war was going on between two fill necked lizards! Most inconvenient. This quilt is now owned by Mrs C Harmey of Breadalbane Tasmania. She also took the photo.

The Child was Smiling This is one of the latest quilts I have made. It is a wall hanging made to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Priesting of Fr Mark Sibly. Unfortunately the photo isn't of the best quality. The design comes from a Children's book called The Clown of God which is a wonderful story retold and illustrated by Tomie dePaola. This is the last illustration in the book. It was hand appliqued and quilted. On the back is a label of the juggler juggling the balls. I do have a picture of that but again it isn't terribly good. I may have to take some more when I get a chance. I learnt a lot when making this quilt and for sheer difficulty I think this could be one of the most difficult quilts I have made to date.

Biblical Sampler This is the latest large quilt I have finished. It was made to celebrate the 25th Wedding anniversary of Fr M Sibly and his wife Nicollette. It is a Tree of Life motif surrounded by blocks with biblical names and a Rose of Sharon Border. The two gentlemen in the picture are DH on the left and my BIL Richard on the Right. Daisy Peter's cousin can be seen in the back ground. This was machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. I loved making it and am almost tempted to make myself one!
