REPORTS & STATIONARY
Reports are a presentation of
information about a single topic. Information in a report is limited to the
topic, which can be very specific. Reports generated using computers usually
include text and graphics, including charts eg annual financial report of a
business or a scientific report. If the report is prepared for and/or by a
company the masthead should indicate the logo.
Stationary includes calendars,
envelopes, fax cover sheets, invoices, labels, purchase orders etc. Templates
for these and all other pieces of stationary would be used in a business so
that consistency is achieved. A template is a standardised and generalised form
that includes all the elements that will appear on all examples of the form. To
complete an invoice, for example, a user can retrieve the invoice template and
fill in the details without having to start from scratch and design the layout.
The invoice template would contain items that will appear on all invoices from
the company, such as the company logo, the company address and columns for
details of what is being ordered.
