An application is a computer
program used for a specific purpose such as word processing. An application
program cannot run unless the operating system has run telling the computer how
the mouse, monitor, printer etc are connected.
MacOS is the
Macintosh operating system; Windows 2000,98,95 and 3.1 are the operating
systems for IBM compatible machines; there are other operating systems eg Linux
