What We Offer
Our Most Distinctive Features
Cedar Riverside Community School is located at the Cedar Riverside Plaza Apartment complex.  This housing complex has been referred to as the "Ellis Island" of Minneapolis, as most of the residents of Cedar Riverside area are families of first generation immigrants.  Fifty five percent of the current students reside in the complex.

Collaboration is also a unique feature of the school.  The school is highly supported by other non-profit community organizations.  Augsburg College sends 40-50 students weekly to tutor or mentor CRCS students.  The college provides instruction or support for instruction in classroom music, piano lessons, art, physical education, the Foss science program, and health.

University of Minnesota Nursing Education Department students assist with the health curriculum, and medical students from Smiley's Clinic conduct annual vision and hearing screening.

Fairview University Hospital supports the school in many ways.  One means is the annual school supply drive.  As a result, students are not required or requested to purchase any school supplies throughout the year.

CRCS extends its expertise and resources to the Family Opportunities and Literacy Collaborative.  This program is aimed at educating parents and their preschool children.
