TO BE SAD IS BAD...RIGHT?
Did you know that God wants you to be sad?
It's true. In fact you can never be happy until you admit that you have something to cry about. Here's why.
The Bible says that us humans are in a pretty pathetic situation. We are selfish, malicious and narrow-minded. We've been hurt, pushed around, and have no power to change our history or ourselves. And there is something worse! We ignore the severity of the situation. We put on a happy face by either hiding our weaknesses or convincing ourselves we can fix everything. We can't.
But there is one who can fix the situation. His name is Jesus and he claimed (and showed) himself to be God. Everywhere he went he told people to recognise their own sorry state and to come to him. For this, we had him executed. However he showed his true power by turning this tragedy into something truly fantastic! As he died he took on all our weaknesses and crimes; and they all died with him. He then returned to life, and any one who also wants a new life can do so, by handing over their old life to him.
God will change your life. All you need to do is come to Jesus, admitting that no one else has the power to make your life right.
What Jesus has to say about sad people.
One day as the crowds were gathering, Jesus went up the mountainside with his disciples and sat down to teach them. This is what he taught them:
"God blesses those who realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.
God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
God blesses those who are gentle and lowly,
for the whole earth will belong to them.
God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty for justice,
for they will receive it in full.
God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
"God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted, too."

So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams,
your families and your relationships in God's Hands
It depends on whose hands they're in.
