***About LinC***

LinC University life.

LinC was formed in 2001 by a group of Christian students on the Mackay Campus of Central Queensland University. University life can be a hectic schedule of exams, assignments and lectures and studying. On top of all this we have to fit in family, friends and relaxation. Often we lose sight of the important issues such as: who am I? where am I going? and what about God?

That's where we come in.

Life in Christ (LinC) is a group of students at the Mackay Campus of the Central Queensland University, whose lives have been changed by Jesus. We come in all shapes, sizes, ages, backgrounds and beliefs, but we all have one thing in common: a desire to know the carpenter from Nazareth whose words of authority and life-changing miracles healed the sick, rescued the lost, and freed the captives; changing the face of the world by changing the hearts of people.

LinC is run by students and for students. Meeting regularly we share our daily struggles, and how, in the midst of these trials, Jesus of Nazareth is using students such as us to change our university, our community and world. LinC is a self-funding, non-profit organisation.

OUR PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES.

Purpose.

Life in Christ (LinC) student Christian group exists to promote belief in and loyalty to Jesus within the university.

Objectives.

To achieve this we will focus on three main objectives:

  1. To identify and support those Christian students within the university who wish to further their relationship with God, bringing them to a place where they are:
    1. Certain of their justification before God
    2. Committed to a local church and contributing according to their gifts
    3. Devoted to God in prayer and application of the Bible
    4. Serving God in the context of their daily lives
  2. To identify and support those non-Christian students in the university who wish to learn more about or experience a relationship with Jesus, bringing them to a place where they:
    1. Acknowledge God's reality and claim on their life
    2. Accept their own need for a relationship with God
    3. Receive Jesus as the only way to have that relationship
  3. To identify and meet needs within the university community, consistently communicating the news of Jesus through action, attitude and word.
