Rules and Regulations

The USGA Rules of Golf governs the play of the CPJGA. The Golf Course Professional will establish local rules and course conditions on the day of play as well as rulings on suspension or cancellation due to weather conditions.

Scoring System

The double-par-plus-putts scoring system is used for all CPJGP tournament events. Once a player gets to double par in the fairway of any hole, he/she picks up the ball and proceeds to the green. On the green, the player will pick the spot that is the fathers from the pin and proceeds to putt and hole out. The score for the hole is the combined score of the fairway (double par) plus the putts taken to hole out.

Safety

Safety of our youngsters is paramount. For this reason participants will be required to adhere to strict safety regulations. Safety issues will be addressed and discussed at all events. Specifically:

 Safety on the course and on the driving range is the responsibility of all golfers.

 Please review the practice swing policy. Ensure area is clear before making a practice swing. Watch for other players making a practice swing.

 In the driving range - do not retrieve balls from the range. Be constantly aware of other players around you. Be ALERT.

 On the course - Dont put tees in your mouth.

 Dont walk in front of a player who is getting ready to play his/her ball.

 Dont try to retrieve balls from the water.

 Wait until the group ahead moves out of your range before playing your ball. BE CAREFUL AND BE ALERT.

Etiquette

Leave the course in a better condition than the way you found it take good care of the golf course and be courteous to everyone. Above all, have fun and dont be too hard on yourself. Specifically;

 Repair ball marks/pitch marks on the greens.

 Put divots back in the ground.

 Rake bunkers.

 Shake hands at the end of each round.

 Dont talk when someone else is getting ready to play his/her ball.
