Reading the Text

More than just getting the general idea of what the text says, you should read critically. What does this mean? It means paying attention to all of the elements you studied in class and taking notes. Dr. John Lye of Brock University wrote a nice guide:

Lye, John. Critical Reading: A Guide. 10/2/2000. <http://www.brocku.ca/english/jlye/criticalreading.html> (accessed 12/12/01).

Once you've carefully read the text, continue to find literary criticism and biographies of the author
