"I was pleasantly surprised to find your flute here when I got home from work today. Oh my... Without a doubt, it is the most beautiful work of art I have seen in my life... The tone is strong throughout the instrument, with no flat or sharp notes, and the tone quality is consistent throughout the range of the instrument. The artwork is amazing! My mom and I spent over a half hour just finding the many different pictures. Just when it seemed that we had seen everything, one of us would say, "Ah! Look, there's a horse," or "Isn't that the Loch Ness Monster!?" I am honored to tears for this wonderful flute, which pleases both eye and ear. Mom... claims it may end up missing once I leave for work tomorrow... She loves it as well. I am more than happy to endorse your work, and will show this... proudly to everyone I meet... May the Great Spirit bless your artistic hands always, and may you have many more happy flutists praise your work. You are gifted beyond imagination! ... Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with the world, and may they all know the joy of the flute."

" Paul... what a wonderful way to return home and find such a beautiful piece of art. You are a very gifted artist and I love the sweet sounds. The artwork and woodburning is class... I will show off my new friend and will think of you as I create a special song to play here on the river..."

"Hi Paul... your flutes are unique in their voicing with a mellow, sweet voice normally found on bigger bore flutes in lower keys, your tunings are also in a class by themselves, by that I mean that today's Fluteplayers are always looking for Flutemakers to push the envelope in flute voice and tunings, I think sometimes that Fluteplayers become complacent and get in a rut of playing the same melody because of standardized tuning thus musical compositions start sounding the same... I look forward to using Coyote Clay flutes in performance as well as in recording projects in the future and hope that you will continue... with your wonderful flutes., I might add that the visual jolt that your wood burnings add to your flutes are like Bev DooLittle's paintings ... There always seems to be something hiding in your artwork burnings that make me want to ponder your flutes as well as play, keep up the great work. Blessings,"

"I just got your flute in the mail today... Your carving work is absolutely incredible!!... That cat carving out of the knotholes is wonderful... I never expected something so wonderful...I appreciate the time and effort that so obviously went into making this flute...... the flute you sent has an extremely clear tone... Your tuning sounds to be dead-on too, I'm impressed!... I really like the way the entire layout looks, with the holes starting small and ascending. I could go on and on about all the unique and wonderful things I am finding about this instrument as I look at it more and more closely, but I should end this note sometime."

"Hi Paul The flutes journey ended today. It arrived and as I unpacked it literally took my breath away. You have again amazed me with your talent. I spent a half hour just exploring the flute body with my wife and my son. Your burnings still amaze me in not only there detail but also in the passion that can obviously be seen in them. You have a VERY special talent and I feel blessed with this chance to work with an artist of your caliber. Then I finally unwrapped the eagle head sculpture and spent ten minutes just looking at it. Then I placed it on the body and tied it and it INSTANTLY had the wonderful haunting voice of a great musical instrument. Words can not express my feelings towards this wonderful piece of art. I am TOTALLY SATISFIED with it."

" The flute arrived that next Monday in beautiful condition. It was just gorgeous. I cannot believe what a work of art it is. After enjoying the art, which I am still in the process of doing; I actually got down to putting it to my lips. WOW!!!! What a voice! The voice is just as beautiful as the artwork. I just love the way it sings. Everything about it is even more than I expected. This flute has surely found a special place in my home and in my heart. The craftsmanship is above reproach and its voice continuously sings your praises. Thanks again for such a beautiful addition to my life. Rest assured that I will pass your name among those who appreciate the NAF."
Thanks again!

"Received the flute this morning~ arrived in perfect condition~ I am speechless (I'll deny that if any of my friends found out)~ It has hardly left my hands since I picked it up 5 hours ago~ every time I look at it~ there is something that I missed before~ but the legacy is incredible for the Iroquois~ Hiawatha Belt~ Washington Covenant Belt~ wolf~ bear~ turtle~ eagle~ hawk~ a lineage of warriors~ I just put it down to write this note quickly and realized as I looked at the trunk of the tree that there was a face looking at me. Wow!!!!! A new face everywhere I turn~ ... I nearly didn't get out of the Post Office this morning~ everyone who came in wanted to get a look at it. Again~ I am honored beyond words (and the Isaiah passage was very familiar to me from my childhood).

Play your song looking to the mountaintop~"

"...I was overcome by it's artistic presentation~ it plays perfectly in mode 1 ~ it is all that I dreamed that it would be~ I'm still so flabbergasted~ it is my heritage in one snapshot~ it is all that my ancestors were and all that I hope that my seven generations beyond will be and honor. It is what I was, what I am, and what I will be all rolled into one~ it has played many songs already, and has been introduced to the medicine circle on my property~ the sparrows, the chickadees, the robins, and the ravens all have responded to it's song~ Again, I am speechless."

"Dear Coyote, Just want to let you know the Standing Bear flute arrived in one piece, thanks to your good packaging. The outside box was dented pretty good on one end but the container was untouched. It is everything I expected and more, I haven't had the time yet to really study the art work but have seen so much in it already. And the standing bear seems quite friendly which will help me to play cheerfully and with a lot of stamina. I particularly like the person in the canoe crossing the lake with people on either side. Much to think about with that. All the animals And the faces I see in the wood give the Standing Bear Flute it's own personality. I'm sure the music coming from it will be as unique as the flute itself and will reflect the spirit of it's creator as well as that of the person playing....Love the flute...I am very happy with the flute...just a point of interest, I have been checking out other flutemakers web sites and all are interesting...your flutes are to me the most original and unique in design. You have a great talent through which my world has become a better place to be. Thanks again and may you make many more, the world needs them..."

Dear Paul,
I got the flute today (apparently they tried to deliver yesterday) and have to tell you what a beautiful piece of work it is. I love the eagle head and all the burnings and carvings. The subtleties weren't nearly conveyed from the pictures I saw... each time I look at it I see something different. I'm very pleased with what you've done and feel privileged to have one of your flutes.
