Tibet House Benefit
Carnegie Hall, New York City
Feb. 28, 2003
The 2003 Tibet House benefit featured performances by (among others) Ziggy Marley, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Ray Davies of the Kinks, and David Bowie. Bowie came on after Anderson's rivetting performance and sang along to an acoustic version of Loving the Alien, and then played a stunning Heathen (the Rays). He was then joined on stage by Ray Davies, and they did a duet of a simply amazing Waterloo Sunset. After Davies did a new song and then a rocking You Really Got Me, Bowie and the rest of the performers came out to join a Ziggy Marley-led version of Bob Marley's Get Up Stand Up.  A stellar evening for sure.  Here are some pics.
