Howdy, I'm Cowgirl o' Color and welcome to my very own Cyber Stables. I'm an African American 40 y/o single mom raising 3 sons, living in Central Texas. As you can see by this page horses are our hobby. During the day I work as an Educator for CTC on Fort Hood and in the evening/weekends we take care of the horses. I have 5 horses of my own.
All of my horses are mares and so we spend our time riding, going to Rodeos and horse auctions. The boys and I also participate in the annual Cowboys of Color Rodeo Parade in Killeen, Texas. Sometimes a group of friends of mine and I make our horses available to the public for riding. That's when we take the horses to Fort Hood for Family Day or any other activities. Now we are preparing for the Rodeo in September.
Yes Killeen has it's own Cowboys of Color Rodeo and it is being held once a year in the first week of September. The Rodeo also includes a riding parade through the city of Killeen. I wish they could find more riders, horse-owners or Riding Clubs of Color from all over Texas and surrounding states to participate in this event. This type of Rodeo (Cowboys of Color) is also being held in Houston and in Dallas/Ft.Worth.
