What is a PSI Vampire?
An individual who has a need to feed upon the life-force of others. Most energy vampires feed upon chi or pranic energy and avoid drinking blood. Some intermingle energy vampirism with blood-drinking. Also referred to as psi-vampires, most energy vampires exhibit the same characteristics that distinguish other real vampires, including light sensitivity, a nocturnal lifestyle, and periods of the Hunger or Thirst.

A general term for the life-energy which is found within and throughout all living things. Also called prana, chi, pranic energy, psychic energy, etc. The life-force that surrounds and is contained in living things. This is the life-force that energy and psychic vampires feed upon. This energy is also contained in the blood and is believed by some to be an integral part of the transfer which occurs between a donor and a sanguinarian. See also "chi" and "pranic energy".

Sang

Someone who has a physical thirst, need, craving for blood (which is non-erotic in nature) in more significant quantity than is generally required or desired by other blood-drinkers. Sanguinarians (a word from the Latin root "sanguinarius", meaning "bloodthirsty") apparently do not get the benefits from pranic energy, or else they are unable to feed psychically like PSI and energy vampires, for whom blood and pranic energy are apparently interchangeable. Safety

I cannot stress enough the importance of being safe when it comes to being a Sanguine. I'm going to be blunt with you, you do NOT want to accept blood from just anyone!

Here are some sure-fire ways to insure your safety:
Make sure the one you are going to be feeding from has been RECENTLY tested for HIV/AIDS and other STD's. It's a good idea for you as a Vampire to go with your donor for the testing and results, this way, the donor cannot lie to you, and yes, there are donors out there that will lie to you simply because they have the need or feel the need to donate.

Get RECENT documentation from your donor of their HIV/AIDS and STD status. Make sure it's on an official letterhead from their doctor's office or testing facility. If they are not going to their primary or regular doctor and go to a testing facility, make sure the facility is legit. Again, there are donors out there who will try to give you falsified information. Do not feed from your donor until such documentation is produced and verified or you have gone with your donor to get the results of the testing.

Donors should be treated with the utmost respect because they are willingly sharing their life-force with us. Donors become such an intricate part of our lives. We build friendships, bonds, relationships, and sometimes we even come to love them and marry them. If we treat them well, they will treat us well.

Tantric

Tantric vampires are vampires who feed on the life-force energies generated from having sex, especially the excess energies generated at the moment of orgasm. They can do so psychically and/or from bodily fluids. Female sexual vampires are sometimes referred to as succubi (singularly, succubus), and male sexual vampires are sometime referred to as incubi (singularly, incubus). Some will also refer to sexual vampires as tantric vampires. Others will refer to tantric vampires as pranic vampires. There is sometimes debate within the vampire community if referring to tantric vampires as pranic vampires is correct or not as there are some within the vampire community that refer to psi vampires as pranic vampires, which could lead to some confusion when talking about pranic vampires. Those that support referring to tantric vampires as pranic vampires argue that pranic energies and prana are two different things, and that pranic energies are energies related to sex while prana is just life-force energies. There are those that think the use of the labels tantric and pranic in reference to tantric vampires is an attempt by some within the vampire community at political correctness who feel that the term sexual vampire is derogatory and/or offensive or simply think that tantric and pranic "sound" better than sexual. However, it is also possible that those who use tantric or pranic when talking about sexual vampires are doing so to differentiate them from any link to behavioral psychology which seems to also be co-opting the term sexual vampire to describe a person who has a psychological need for attention (much like a psychic vampire) through sex.
