Species
Humans:
They're more versatile, in that they can be anything. The different
occupations are included on another page, along with which species can do
what. Humans tend to be weaker at battle, but possess a stubborn spirit
that makes them invaluable warriors. They are also the only species that can
have psychic abilities. This abilities are telepathy, telekinesis, and
extra-sensory perception (ESP). ESP entails that a person can ‘see’ the
future, an ability that works randomly, but when a party is in danger.
Shaman: Basically humans who are links between the living and spirit world. The allow spirits to give them their power and connect them to the world. --submitted by KingKuriboh
Elfin:
The Elfin race is more peaceable and as a whole do not go out to battle or
become warriors unless summoned to do so. They run shops and restaurants
where the rest of the characters can be rejuvenated, and some also can
perform Healing magic. They can also be miniature dragon breeders, and the
Dark Elves (evil) are necromancers. The Healing magic is aside from the
main four Alchemic elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. Healing elves are
drained easily and need to be protected in battle; little cuts and scrapes
they heal with herbs, larger wounds drain them easily of their power and
they need a day to rejuvenate.
Hybrids:
They're crosses between an animal species and a human. They were once
anomalies, but that was thousands of years ago and they each have
established species. There are the Eagles, the Wolves, and the Dolphins.
These hybrids have two forms: human form and their animal form, so they're
actually shape-shifters limited to one shape. They have the human qualities,
except they cannot be psychic because they are all ready shape-shifters.
They are not invincible in animal state, but are stronger in animal state
than human state.
Forest Spirits:
They obviously live in the forest, and inhabit either the trees or the
water. They can make themselves appear as a different shape from their usual
humanoid appearance. This is only a mask, though, and cannot actually harbor
the powers of the person they shift into. Forest spirits are experts in the
forest part they live in, and can make healing and the opposite poisoned
potions. Some tend to lead travelers out of their forest to aid them, but
some are evil and get the travelers more lost. To leave the forest, they
need a Fairy companion if they live in the trees, and a Pixie companion if
they life in the water. With no magical assistance, they can only leave
their forest for 48 hours.
Fairies:
Fairies live in the plains in small homes. They are a small species, but can
exist for a small time (about one hour) as an Elf look-alike. Fairies are
more adept to use magic by using small acoustic instruments, like harps.
Their magic draws from two of the Alchemic Elements: Fire and Earth. They
can assist in a Forest Spirit to leave the forest for longer than 48 hours,
and can also manipulate these two elements, which Elves cannot do. Elves can
only draw magic from the Elements, not produce or reduce them. Fairies can
create fire and help earth flourish. Because of their small size, they tire
easily on long journeys, but are easily carried by a full-sized specie
(human, elf, forest spirit, or hybrid). They are a size about 8 inches tall
and can easily stand on a grown man’s hand.
Pixies:
They are a variant of the fairies,
except that they live on water. They can lead a Forest Spirit that lives on
the water out of the forest and assist them. They do their magic with wind
instruments, like panpipes and chimes. They can draw from two of the
Alchemic Elements: Water and Wind, thus meaning they can bring rainstorms if
they wish or produce drinking water for a traveling party. Pixies and
Fairies are very closely related, except that their ancestors settled in
different areas.
