Greeting
Corvette fans!
Another
month of summer has past us, and we are certainly gearing up for upcoming
activities. I would like to welcome all of our new members and remind you
all that pictures of you automobiles are needed for the gallery
pages. I have found even more interested information for this month's
newsletter, and certainly hope that you all enjoy it, as much as I enjoy
bringing it to you.
The membership
drive continues, albeit slowly. I will be sending to all members, flyers
to pass on to other Corvette enthusiasts, and would like to ask the other clubs
to forward our way any people who may be in our neck of the woods.
The
good news is, that my discussions have concluded with the Parks and Recreation
people, and although I was unable to obtain a spot within Golden Gate Park, I
have found a location adjacent to the park with plenty of picnic and parking
facilities. I will now begin to secure a date for the club's first annual
event, perhaps in October or November. In the meantime, check out the calendar
for other clubs events and show your support for these events, since it is all
about camaraderie. I will be attending some of the upcoming events,
and hope to see you all there as well.
And
remember members, our friends
are offering parts and service discounts, and club merchandise
is discounted for you all.
'Vette
Nights are still in the works, something to do with insurance, but I will secure
an agreement one way or another. We need to bring back the love of the
automobile within our community.
And
I have a brief commentary. If any of you purchase extended warranties on
your automobiles, please read the fine print. Mine stated that the oil had
to be changed every four months or 4,000 miles whichever came first. Well
for someone who drives their car less than 1,000 miles a year, every four months
is ridiculous, and because of this fine print, I lost two years on my warranty,
since it became invalid. So don't make the same mistake I did, read the
fine print before shelling out 1,200.00 to 1,500.00 dollars. If anyone
would like to know of the company I dealt with, please email
me and I will forward the information to you.
Well
anyway,
as always I
would like to thank everyone who has contributed their advice and information to
help assist us with the club and the website. Please keep your comments
coming, we welcome all.

The Differences In Years
Corvettes has
been wonderfully unique from other cars through the years, but even to the most
die hard fan, they have often been very similar to each other. This is not the
final word in detecting the year, but it is merely a guide to assist you.
Remember, for some of these cars, there has been as much as 40 years of crashes,
customizing, and restoring to various levels.
