Honor Physics
Course Descriptions
This Honor Physics course will help students to appreciate the world around them, enabling them to obtain information from the world by direct measurement and, by applying the Laws of Physics, allow them to perform experiments and draw independent conclusions consistent with their physical environment. This course is designed to help students think and analyze problems in the real world.
Requirements
1. Materials – 3 composition notebooks (lectures and labs), red pen/pencil for grading papers, pencil only and a scientific calculator and lab fee of $10.00
2. Project per quarter

4. Lab uniform

b. Closed toed- shoesWeekly Assignments
1. Will be given out on Monday and will be collected on Friday
2. Daily progress report on their grades
3. Parental signature will be required for each day of the weekGrading system - The quarter grade will be based on the following percentages:
1. Tests = 30%
2. Laboratory reports = 20%
3. Quizzes = 10%
4. Notebook = 10 points
5. Homework/Class participations = 10 points
6. Project = 20 %
a. Power Point Presentations = 100 points
b. Oral Presentation = 100 points
Semester grade will be the average of the two quarter grades and the 10 points will be added to their semester grades.
Grading Scale
1. 100 to 90 A
2. 89 to 80 B
3. 79 to 70 C
4. 69 to 60 D
5. Below 59 FailingNo late assignments will be HONORED. Your paper is expected to be turn in at the beginning of class. If you are absent, I expect the assignment to be turn in the immediately after your absence. Example, if you are absent on Monday, I expect the assignment on Tuesday.
Make-ups
1. Make ups are ONLY for QUIZZES and TESTS and it will be take home. Laboratory make ups will be on a virtual laboratory activities (computer software).
Attendance and Tardy
1. If you are absent for more six days in a semester- you will received NO CREDIT for the semester.
2. You are allowed only three Parent notes and the rest will be deemed unexcused unless accompanied by a doctor’s certificate.
3. Clarification on Parent notes – each day you are absent counts as ONE PARENT NOTE. Example, you are absent on Monday and Tuesday. You bring a note for these days. This will count as TWO PARENT NOTES. If you have any questions, please see the Attendance Principal.Student name (print) ______________________
