My Teaching Philosophy
I have been teaching eighteen years for the Guam Public School
and I have taught three of the four high schools on the island.
I believe that every student can learn and it is up to me to help
them achieve success. Therefore, I am constantly looking
for new ways for my students to connect with the lessons. My
favorite quote is from Walt Disney who claimed "its kind of fun
to do the impossible ". My students moan each time I approach
a project like
it is a "piece of cake" and I explained to them that
it is not as
bad as it looks. Once they get going and see the
end product, nodoubt they would want to finish it!
I believe on hands-on learning activities and I try to connect
the lessons with the real world. This year, I very excited and
confident that my class will successful launch a two-staged rocket
without breaking the raw egg inside. This is one of my favorite
project from NASA and in the past, my former students
succeeded in launching one- staged bottle rockets.
Lastly, I expect every student that enters my class to give it
their
best and when the exit my class - they exit with honesty, integrity
and adventure for knowledge.
