Fall in Blairstown, New Jersey Everyone LOVES to rag on New Jersey...all they know are the Sopranos, the oil refineries, think that you define where you live by the exit number on the turnpike, Newark Airport, etc. etc. Well, lemme tell you something, there are some beautiful sections, my home town being one of them. Here are a few shots to give you a sense of the rural landscape and natural beauty of the area.
This is the lake and waterfall that belong to Blair Academy, the prep school located in town, and yes, the names are related. Back in the 1800's, John I. Blair pretty much built up this whole area, naming the school and town after himself.
These are the steps leading up to Blair alongside the falls.
The road leading to the home of one of Alex's friends. One's the actual picture, and one's been "pastel-ized".
The bright red color of a dogwood.
Pond and creek pictures from a little section near town called Jacksonburg. The colors and reflections were absolutely magnificent.
This is the classic shot that all of the folks in my family have taken pictures of for years, it's basically the "welcome home" shot of the lake just a mile or so before our house. This, however, was the first time I'd ever been able to capture the fall colors and reflection so well.
