REGGIE
I'm sorry. With all your help, the least I can do is support your goal to achieve your dream.
Raven studies her a moment longer, moves toward her, and kisses her passionately on the mouth. Reggie appears surprised then returns the kiss. Raven slowly pulls away and meets her gaze. He offers a tiny smile.
RAVEN
I just needed to get that out of my system.
REGGIE
(warm smile)
Happy to have helped.
Later. We see Raven, Reggie, and Dylan Creature walking along the path in the woods. Dylan Creature suddenly stops, looks around, and smells the air through his open mouth. A soft gurgle comes from his throat. Raven and Reggie stop and look around. There's no sounds and nothing moves. Without warning, several two-foot-tall creatures the same color as the woods jump on top of Raven and tackle him to the ground. He kicks and tosses them off of him. One bites him on the neck. He holds out his hand and all of the creatures are violently projected off of him. He holds his bleeding neck and moves to his knees. Reggie hurries to his side with concern and attempts to look at his injury.
REGGIE
Raven, are you okay?
Raven looks to the blood on his hand then appears concerned. He quickly stands and again touches the wound on his neck.
RAVEN
Koon fights dirty. That thing bit me for a reason.
REGGIE
(alarmed)
Do you think he's infected you with something?
RAVEN
We need to hurry. Having me turn on you would be just his style.
Reggie stares at him with a look of horror. Raven hurries her along the path.
EXT. BEACH -- DAY
Reggie and Raven hurry along the sandy beach behind the fast moving Dylan Creature. Raven suddenly slows, clutches his head, sways, then falls to his knees. Reggie looks back then hurries toward him.
REGGIE
It's just another mile or two, Raven. You can fight it.
Raven slowly shakes his head.
RAVEN
You need to keep going--get as far away from me as possible.
REGGIE
I can't leave you like this.
RAVEN
You have too. Your freedom depends on you getting that dagger back.
Dylan Creature paces in circles near them. His tail swishes as if in a panic. Reggie appears frustrated.
REGGIE
This isn't fair.
KOON
You're right. It's completely unfair.
Reggie and Raven look to Koon, who casually leans against a nearby tree. He frowns and shakes his head while looking at Raven. Dylan Creature darts behind Reggie and hides. Reggie's look is hateful.
REGGIE
He's your own brother. Look what you're doing to him. What kind of monster are you?
Koon straightens and appears innocent.
KOON
Not me. I'm not the beast who bit him. Sad, though. That's a fast acting poison and the only
antidote is back a mile.
REGGIE
(horrified)
Poison?
Raven appears equally surprised.
