Working at Tata Consultancy Services , Bangalore as Assistant Systems Engineer Trainee since October 2005 till date.

Job Profile :

Currently working at Quartz Global Support Center as a Team Member.

Quartz is an inhouse Investment Banking Solution of the Tata Consultancy Services.

It addresses the requirements of universal banks specializing in investment management for private as well as institutional investors. Quartz covers a wide range of activities such as securities trading, treasury operations and portfolio management, payments and funds transfer and retail services.

The Quartz architecture comprises of Quartz Server ( UNIX server ) and Quartz Client (Windows based machine) . The Backend coding is done in C++,Pro C and SQR while frontend involves pbl (PowerBuilder) .

Quartz has many clients across the globe, some of which are TAIB Bank Bahrain, SIP Switzerland, ECETRA Austria, Bank Muscat ,DRCM USA, Barclays Africa etc.

Responsibilities :

• Provide support for any bug reported in any module

• Carry out enhancements/changes requested by the client

• Perform the technical and functional testing for the enhancements/fixes

• Involved in Configuration Management of Quartz and performed Quartz migration to Oracle 10g, SQR 8.5, Powerbuilder 10 and Tuxedo 9.0

• Carried out Quartz ESCROW delivery to NCC (Manchester) for the Oman International Bank

• SQR reports

• Took initiatives in taking Knowledge Transfer Sessions

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

1. B.Tech Final year Project

Title : Low power hardware implementation of the Advanced Encryption Standard in Verilog HDL.

Duration : 6 months

Software/Tools : Verilog, Aldec-HDL, Xilinx libraries

Team Size : 2

Description : Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) is the a symmetric algorithm (same key for encryption and decryption) using block encryption of 128 bits in size, supporting key sizes of 128, 192 and 256 bits. A low power hardware implementation was proposed using various optimization techniques during the design and coding phase. The simulation was carried out on Aldec-HDL v 6.3 and synthesis was done using Xilinx synthesis tools.

2. Software Phase Tracking System

Description : The project encompassed all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle and UML was employed in the design phase.

The web-based software caters to the needs of a small organization in organizing and maintaining the projects. It has following features:

1. Starting a new project by allocating employees to it and planning the time for different phases and cost involved.

2. Filling of time sheet weekly by the employees

3. Check discrepancy in time sheet filled by team members and team leader

4. Generate weekly reports for tracking the project status

5. Generating monthly salaries for all the employees

3. Sudoku game in Java

Duration : 12 days

Description : The aim of the Sudoku puzzle is to enter a numerical digit from 1 through 9 in each cell of a 9×9 grid made up of 3×3 subgrids (called "regions"), starting with various digits given in some cells (the "givens"); each row, column, and region must contain only one instance of each numeral. The game GUI was developed in Swings and programming was done using Core Java APIs. The game included options to load a puzzle from database, save an unsolved puzzle, load saved puzzle, input a puzzle and play it, view the solution, pause game and view high scores.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Secured first rank in the examination for admission to Vocational Course in Railway Commercial in 1999-2000

• Secured 95.5% in X and 91.7 % in XII in Science + Maths

• Cleared Sun Certified Java programmer (SCJP) examination with 91%
