Yes life sure gets like that some time you try to do something different but it does not turn out the way you wanted it and makes things even worse and then you just stand there looking at this tangled mess and do not know where to start.
Every thing has a beginning and an end just think about it like a fishing line you throw it out to catch a fish and it ends up caught on the rocks then when you get it loose and on shore it is in a tangled mess. You have options you can just throw it all away loosing every thing the rode the line the sinkers the float and hook.. or you can take a better look and thry and find where the tank is in relation to the rest of the equipment.. Ok so you cut the tangle from the rod now you at lease save the rod then you can see that there are several knots that will easily come undun and there you go you now can save the hook and sinker and with a little more patience you now can get the the float.. now you can decide if you really need all that tangle line or you can choose to dispose of it safely.
But this all take time and energy do not be too hard on your self , do some thing nice for your self and take each bit at a time
