11/03/02 - IT'S BEEN A WHILE...I FEEL STAIND. (GET IT?)
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
DANIEL WERHO & SUSIE EMO
Wow. Quite a bit has happened since Halloween. Last Thursday I went to my classes and took my College Algebra retake (for a while I thought I had missed it, but I was right about which day it was on). What surprised me was that the teacher had taken notice of me. When I turned my test in, he asked why I had done so poorly on the second test when I had aced the first. haha...I let out some sheepish remark about not studying and he nodded understandingly. He's a pretty nice guy. I thanked him for the retake. Then I went to the A.S.I.A. Halloween party. Eric (another friend) and I were the only guys there with about 10 asian girls. Funny thing is, Kenny Anderson and his bros. stopped coming because "Dude, where're all the girls?" After the party, Eric went home and I went clubbing with 5 of the girls. OH! And I saw my first episode of Off-Centre. John Cho is HILARIOUS! He plays Chau, and in the episode I saw he was dating a homeless lady. He is one funny guy. But, back to the clubs. We went to Ybor City to a place called Twilight. I don't think I'll frequent clubs TOO often if only for the fact that all your clothes stink of smoke afterwards. I have to do my laundry AGAIN, haha...not that I have a problem with wearing clean clothes.
On Friday I kind of just hung out and went to the movies. I forgot to bring my ID card (my Student ID doesn't have my Date of Birth on it) and couldn't get into one of the movies I wanted to see (Red Dragon or Jackace). So, I ended up watching I Spy which was PG-13 and it wasn't that bad. Eddie Murphy is the original annoying black man. Chris Tucker and Chris Rock got nothing on him. Then, yesterday I watched Red Dragon. AWESOME MOVIE! GO SEE IT! It already came and went in Korea, but when it comes back around check it out. And most of the rest of my time I've been sleeping. I need to stop sleeping. Daniel Werho and Susie Emo have both offered giving me wake-up calls, and I might take them up on it, hence the shout-outs. In fact, if you'd like to be one of the few people to give me a wake-up call give me an e-mail. Just a little conversation in the morning and I'll be good to go. Well, I need to eat and shower. So, I'll talk to everyone later. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Goodbye & God Bless.

11/04/02 - HOMECOMING WEEK
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
CHAR LAUGHLIN
It's Homecoming week here at USF. I woke up today at 3 and couldn't go back to sleep until 7 when I was supposed to get up. So, I ended up sleeping until 1130 which gave me enough time to shower and make it to class. After that I did the gym thang, working out and whatnot. I found out that the $4 fruit drink I'd been buying after my workouts could be replaced by a $1 bottle of Powerade. MONEY SAVING!! YES! After that I printed out some flyers for A.S.I.A. and headed back to my room. But, I found an awesome little rock-climbing wall set up on the way home and HAD to climb it. So, I climbed it, but I fell a couple of times due to my strenuous workout. It was fun, though. The guy there gave me an ad for his rock gym, which is called Vertical Ventures. I want to go check it out, but I have no car. I'll probably try to check it out sometime this month, though.
I got home and started writing another song, this one about...well, it's about liking a girl who seems to have no time for you. haha, it's not about anyone in particular, but it could apply to practically everyone I know. Well, compared to my easy no problem schedule, everyone else is swamped. I wonder if that's another thing that decides whether or not I like a girl. After all, I do tend to go after girls I can't get, so why not go after a girl who has no time for me? It's debatable, I'll examine it some other time. Right now, I want sleep. I heard some sad news, and talked about it for a little bit. Then, I went to my Arts & Humanities class, and worked out some of the details for the medley we'll be playing at the concert. Then I went and ate dinner and stopped by the shoppette to buy a box of cereal. RAISIN BRAN! TWO SCOOPS OF RAISINS! YES! Now, I'm at home, writing, falling asleep. I want to give mad props to Char, for coming up with the definitive Away message. That's not meant to be sarcastic or anything, I honestly wasn't offended, but was pretty impressed at how she can just say, "Hey, this is me. If you don't like it, that's YOUR problem." I thought it was pretty funny, too. I usually think it's funny when someone can second guess someone else. Anyways, I hope that your busyness passes and that all your college prep and classes don't take too much of a toll on you, Char. Well, that's all for tonight. I'm going to SLEEP. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Good night & JESUS Bless.

11/07/02 - STILL HOMECOMING WEEK
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
A.S.I.A. (Asian Students In America)
It's still Homecoming week here at USF. What happened in the last 3 days? Well, on Tuesday I went to class and volunteered with Run Crew for the Winter Play. Basically, I sat backstage watching the costumes while the actors performed. Someday...haha. I worked out that night. Then, yesterday I went to the gym in the morning and went to class. I volunteered some more time at the costume lab, but decided I didn't want to do Run Crew again. Instead, I went home and did my laundry and then I went to the Food Court. I met up with Eric (a friend from the ASIA Club) and struck up a conversation with 4 Japanese students. I invited them to come to the ASIA meeting today and one of them showed up...her name is Rumiko. I stayed up late last night typing up a paper on the Nobel Prize Winner for Physics in 1954.
Today, I went to class and stopped by the costume lab and helped out a little. Then, I came home to study for the test in my next class, but I was surprised...my MOM CALLED!!! haha...we talked for a while and then I studied...a little. I took the test...not sure how I did. Then I went to the ASIA meeting. Kenny and Robert came this week and there were a lot of guys this time, haha. They probably came because they heard about all the girls showing up, but not many girls showed up this week, haha. Afterwards everyone left, except for a few so I had dinner with Mylynn, Gi, Anie, and Rumiko at Chili's. Mylynn is the president of the ASIA Club and she is awesome. She drives a souped-up Civic, haha. After dinner she went home and the rest of us went to this carnival on campus. I climbed the rock wall!! I love climbing...it's so fun. Then all of us rode this spinny ride, we watched the fireworks, and then we hung around the bonfire. After that we were pretty much done, so Gi dropped everyone off and went home. This was a fun day, yeah! haha...that's all for now. OH! I started drawing this awesome picture, I'll try to scan it for the website. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Good night & God Bless.

11/13/02 - WHERE HAVE I BEEN?
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
JESSICA PARK
haha, it's been 5 days and I haven't even done much. Over the 3 day weekend I mostly slept and got my schedule out of wack. But, I had plenty of time to get back with the program and I successfully did. Other than sleeping, I went and watched The Ring with Anie and Mindi. They took me to Muvico which was supposedly so much better than the University theatre. haha, it was pretty nice. I'll post my review of The Ring later. It was pretty scary. On my to see list: 8 Mile, Sweet Home Alabama, Jackace: The Movie. I've read a lot of books lately, too. I just finished The Robe and The Smoke Jumper. Both very good books. I ran into Rumiko twice in the past two days. Both times at the food court. I saw her last night as I was leaving after dinner and I had breakfast with her this morning. I worked out and went to class and stopped by the library, too. There will probably be a second update today. I'm going to rest for a second.
SECOND UPDATE: Good morning! haha. I tried updating last night but the internet was going kind of slow. So, instead I went to bed early and now's it 7 AM on Thursday. I'm getting ready for class, but I thought I'd finish the update. I downloaded a couple of movies to watch while I eat my meals. So far, I've seen Barbershop, Stealing Harvard, and Mr. Deeds on my computer. I might post reviews later, haha. Anyways, the shoutout goes to Jessica Park for keeping me pretty well updated with Osan happenings. Apart from my brother and parents, Jessica is the person from Osan that I took to the most. So, Jessica, here's a big SHOUTOUT. haha, I need to get ready for class. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Goodbye & God Bless.

11/18/02 - FAMILY IS AWESOME!
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
HALMONI, HALABUHJI, SUSIE EMO, & UNCLE DON
It's been another 5 days and I'm finally updating my page again. I added an awesome picture to the Pictures section. It's basically an illustration that I've been working on. I pictured what the poster for the Osan Movie that I was working on would look like and that's the rough draft. This past weekend I got to see the people listed above and we enjoyed a lot of family time together. They gave me a ride back to my dorm and then proceeded to give my room a total makeover. It's so nice and clean now, haha. IT'S GREAT! I've got a little cork-board and dry-erase board for messages, and a little bookshelf with all my mementos on it. I love it and I love my family!
They were staying Orlando, so I caught the Greyhound and while we were there I checked out Jackase: The Movie and One Hour Photo. Both movies were great, but that first one was crazy! We also ate at Denny's a lot, I love Denny's. What do I order? THE LUMBERJACK SLAM! Try it, you'll like it! They were staying in the hotels at Universal Studios and Uncle Don, Susie Emo, and I hit the arcades and killed it. I'm kind of tired, but I'm making a promise to update very well tomorrow. I just got back from volleyball, which was kind of embarassing. I need lots of practice. I got early class tomorrow, so I really do need to get to sleep. Tomorrow's update will definitely be awesome. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Good night & God Bless.

11/27/02 - HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Y'ALL
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
TABETHA VALADEZ, ANIE, MINDI, & GI
Once again, it's been a couple of days since my last update, and once again quite a bit has happened. I was getting a little sad, because whenever I try to call people, they are usually out. I hate leave messages because I sound dumb, haha. It's usually because the answering machine catches me by surprise and I can't sum up an entire conversation in like 15 seconds, so I usually just hang up, haha. AND I always get my hopes up when I open the mailbox, and every time it's empty. So, I was just feeling kind of cut off, but in the past few days I've gotten my hopes back. My parents called a couple of times, and I talked with a few people on the phone, AND I got a letter in the mail. I WAS SO EXCITED, haha. I was like, "Why am I even opening my mailbox, it's going to be empty..." BAM! LETTER IN MY FACE. haha.
So, the shout-out to Tabetha: THANKS FOR THE LETTER. I APPRECIATE IT! Now, the other half of the shout-out. Anie & Mindi. Anie offered to give me a ride to the airport, but it turns out she couldn't. She didn't just leave it at that, though, NO! She arranged for me to get a ride with someone else. So, I'm catching a ride with Gi. She's a total G. Yesterday, Anie invited me out to go watch a free showing of EXTREME OPS, haha. We arrived late so instead we just rented some movies. We had a movie marathon. We watched ENOUGH, SESSION 9, and MURDER BY NUMBERS. All three were rather enjoyable. I enjoyed Murder By Numbers the most. Session 9 had the most visually stunning shot. In one of the scenes, this character who's afraid of the dark is in the basement with a row of lights to his side. Well, the lights start going out so he starts running, and the way they shoot it, it looks like the darkness is literally chasing him. AWESOME! haha. Enough was pretty crazy. That's all I have to say about that, haha.
AND I had a test. I believe I did quite well. I'd say I got at least an A. Oh, I missed two classes yesterday morning. For the last month or so, my alarm battery has been dying. I could tell because the alarm song started sounding horribly off key...you know, flat? Well, I didn't figure it was a problem. But, yesterday when my alarm went off at 8, I got up thinking I was ahead of schedule. I took a shower, ate breakfast, checked the clock again it was 9...I had half an hour to get to class. Until I looked at my watch and saw the time 11:15. I was like, "What the?" I checked my cell phone: 11:15. My alarm had finally started slowing down. Well, that's the end of today's update, haha. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY! BE THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE! I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Goodbye & God Bless.

12/02/02 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!! <-- Click to hear song --
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
MY MOM
Shoot, this makes me kind of sad. I accidentally deleted two of my old updates. So, now that chapter of my life is forever gone. But, enough about that. Today was my mom's birthday, but her birthday is already over in Korea. Which makes me kind of sad, because I didn't have a chance to call her. I'm not going to amke excuses, but I feel really bad about it. So, I've added a song to this page. It's a birthday song I wrote for my mom. Well, actually, I didn't write it. I took an existing song and I changed the lyrics. I have to work hard and catch up with all my classes, so I didn't have time to sit down and write everything out like I'd have liked to. But, still, check out my
mom's song. I've provided the lyrics, too. Just in case you couldn't hear it that well.
I enjoyed my Thanksgiving break, but unfortunately I can't really elaborate, due to this being the last week of school, and I need to get good grades. I hope you'll understand. I'll most definitely update this page when I get back to Korea, but until then, I'm on a kind of web page hiaitus. Did I spell that right? Well, I must get to work. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Good night & God Bless.

12/04/02 - PICTURES!
THE SHOUT-OUT OF THE DAY GOES TO:
ASHLEY (MY COUSIN)
I know I said I wasn't updating this page for the rest of the week, but I took some pictures with my new camera and decided to let you guys have a glimpse of what college life is like. Actually, they're just pictures of me making goofy faces. There's one of them at the top. There's more on the Pictures page. haha. I called Ann today, because I thought it was her birthday, but it's not until tomorrow. I've kind of lost my edge of surprise. Looks like I can't remember anyone's birthdays these days. Even though it was two days ago, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN, MOM! LOVE YOU LOTS, haha. My cousin from New York, Ashley has been asking she hasn't gotten a shout-out yet, so here's your shout-out! Do good in school and be a good girl, okay? Alright, short update, but with pictures so that makes up for it. I miss you, everybody. Take care of yourself. Good night & God Bless.
