Our new Heahwyrta (High Artisan) is… Lady Ciorsdan Lynn Andersoun!
Thanks to both Lady Ciorsdan Lynn Andersoun of Tir Briste and Lady Isabetta Asini of Sol Haven for participating and offering your service to the Consortium. And thanks to all who sent in your votes...remember, especially considering how close this race was, your vote does count!

From THLady Yseult de Montagu, Co-Autocrat, Fools' War XIII
Preliminary planning for Fools' War 13: the Repeat/Re-Run/Reject...or something...has begun, and promises to kick into full swing following the holidays.

Due to the autocrats' and their home group's desire to see an honest-to-goodness Consortium event wow Meridies by our local talents and capabilities, we are hoping to include all Consortium shires and affiliates in whatever capacity pleases them best, and to that end, we are sending out the call for volunteers. We would greatly appreciate any and all assistance, and more than that, would just be tickled pink if you would like to be involved and having fun with us in this silly endeavor.
The "crat" staff list is full, but for one position: target archery. Anyone able and wanting to run this competition, please contact me at your earliest convenience. The full "crat" list will be posted in January to the Fools' War web page (http://www.foolswar.org) for those of you needing additional contact information.
Of course, we will need help in all areas, but areas requiring the most volunteers (around the clock, in some cases) are Security and Troll. Anyone wishing to volunteer, please contact me, and I will put you in touch with the folks in charge of requested areas. Entire shires/groups are welcome to volunteer as a unit, also.
Finally...remember to get those acts together for the Gong Show! If you thought Clown List: the Faux Pas was funny, well, here's your chance to join in the show. At the request of the Goobercrat, I am reminded to inform you that no funeral dirges or Morris Dancing of any sort will be allowed in the performances. Keep it goofy and clever...and you just may win a...um...well, *something*.
Thanks, everybody!
Yours, Yseult, Co-Autocrat [email protected]

Forth Castle and Tir Briste may remember "Shut Up, Gio"...others of you will be scratching your heads, but all of you know of Gio's fine talent (ahem!) at puns and off-beat humor. Well, Tir Briste recently acquired another Francisco - Bastiano - who happens to be quite handy with caricatures and artistic goodies, and the boys have joined forces to bring you a new cartoon called "Shut Up, Franciscos!" (run away...go now, while you still have the chance!). Think you can figure out the pun?? (Answer coming in February…)

The Southern Watch is your Newsletter!

That's why we need submissions! Special thanks go out to all the groups and their seneschals who took the time to submit news from the marches, and to all of the wonderful individuals who have either contributed articles or arranged to write special features in coming months.
Remember, any Consortium members (including people from area incipient groups and college clubs) may submit to the Southern Watch. Articles, news bits, birthday wishes, recipes, opinions, columns - you write it, and we post it! The only request is that it be written in a clean enough manner that children may read it, too. Thanks!
