News from the Marches

Or whatever Gio decides to make up if you guys are too slack to write or call...

ATVAGAS (College Club, MGC, Cochran)

In January Richard Anderson went to Vulcan's Hammer. This weekend 3-5 students will accompany Master Theahtyn to Saint Bridgette's Masque: Meri Kennedy, Richard Anderson, Tetsuji Narishige, and perhaps two others.

MGC will host its International Festival on Tuesday, April 9. SCA support is requested.

CAMDEN TOR

Please do not wake Camden Tor, as they are taking a nap after hosting Vulcan's Hammer.

DRAGONFLY MARSH

Courtesy of His Highness's actions at South Downs' Hearth & Home, Connor MacFie is now LORD Connor. Congratulations!

FORTH CASTLE

Forth Castle recently had two people show interest at their successful Lord of the Rings demo on opening night. The rumor that Lord Chinua was dressed as Galadriel is totally unsubstantiated.

Additionally, Forth Castle fighters seem to be getting more fragile as winter months continue. <g> See Chinua or Jochi for details.

MARION GLEN

Aside from bidding on Chalice Challenge and requesting to join the Consortium, Marion Glen has been working on their device and other fun things that new groups get to do. Their seneschale, Rebekah, also sent along a cute story many of us can appreciate:

Corwyn, a 12 year old in Marion Glen recently received 3 days In School Suspension for hitting a bigger boy for making fun of his teacher and calling her names. --Who promptly whopped him back.-- While his parents are not particularly pleased, what can you really reply to : "But Mom... I was defending her honor! Don't ya ever want me to be a Knight?"

RAVENWOOD

Yet again, Ravenwood gets the gold star for quick communications! Bran reports that they are thoroughly immersed in Meridian Maneuvers planning at the moment, which is keeping the group too busy for much else right now.

RIVERMARCH

Aside from office shifts that gave us a bit of a chase in trying to find the seneschal (best of luck with the new job, Conrad!), Rivermarch is busily planning alongside Ravenwood for Meridian Maneuvers. They hope the experience will help the group prepare for an eventual Rivermarch-hosted event. Additionally, many of them are making preparations for Gulf Wars (bet you guessed that already...).

SOL HAVEN

Sol Haven imitated Rivermarch's "hidden seneschal" trick, but we found Ulrich anyway. After all that, he didn't have much to say. :)

TIR BRISTE

We live here, but we don't know much about what's going on. Oh yeah...Lady Murien and Her Highness Hanaa both got new cars recently.

VIRIDIAN FJORD

Twenty-one people were in attendance at the January Regional Fighter Practice. Thirteen fighters got very angry at each other during the day, and fighting was followed by a revel at Theodoric's later that evening. Viridian Fjord wishes to thank the Trimarians and out-of-towners who attended.
