Foot Massage (my favorite to give)

There are 144 distinct Reflexology pressure points in feet, and they have the longest lasting reaction to their associated body parts; also many key Accupressure Tsubos. That is why when your feet feel good your whole body feels better. If you crossed a pedicure with Biblical foot washing you would end up with something similar to my specialty. Imagine one foot relaxing in a vibrating heated foot bath, while the other is being tenderly massaged in soothing aromatic moisturizer, until the foot in the water is gets jealous. Time to switch. Aaahhh that's better. Wait, I'm not done yet. Now it's time for the finale. This massage ends with a YUMMY exfoliating dip in heated paraffin wax. It kind of makes you wish that your whole body was a foot. This is another excellent massage for those who don't have time or are not quite ready for a full body massage yet.

The Bible speaks of Jesus washing His disciples' feet:

John 13:3-5[That] Jesus, knowing (fully aware) that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was [now] returning to God,
Got up from supper, took off His garments, and taking a [servant's] towel, He fastened it around His waist. Then He poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the [servant's] towel with which He was girded.

The Bible also speaks of Jesus receiving a foot washing:

Luke 7:38 And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with [her] tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet [affectionately] and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

Jesus saw the needs of people and met them, literally touching their lives spiritually, emotionally, and physically, leaving them changed for the better forever. Matthew 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with COMPASSION for them, and healed their sick.

THE POWER OF TOUCH
"Touch is as essential to a healthy and happy life as eating right, getting proper sleep, and exercising. With the world growing more technological, the awareness of the need for healthy human contact is becoming more vital. Massage and body therapies offer an inviting, safe, healing refuge for humans living in a fast-paced, stressed-out world." - Adapted from Massage Magazine

The power of touch is amazing;  A lover's caress, friend's comforting eachother with a hug, a mother's warm embrace -The elderly's lives are lengthened by it. It is one of the basic, crucial awesome, universally, understood languages. In human relationships words only account for about 10% of all expression; the remainder is comprised of body language, gesutures and touch. Touch is the first since to function in humans. It is operative even before the higher brain centers begin to work. When we are touched, they send messages to the brain, stimulating various organs and glands to secrete chemicals and hormones that affect us. The brain's perception of the type of touch determines the body's reaction. If the touch is not of a threatening nature, the body's reaction will be favorable. Even comatose patients show higher hemoglobin counts after being touched. Did you know lack of touch could hinder the growth of children raised in orphanages? Many died from a disease called "Wasting Away". the percentage of children dying in the 1920's under one year of age in orphanages was over 60%. Massage is the oldest form of therapy to help soothe and provide comfort to a tense body. Massage works by releasing tight muscels and stimulating nerves, blood circulation, and lymphatic system to eliminate toxins. I incorporate compassion into each massage. Sympathy is merely pity, where empathy is the attempt to put yourself in another's place. Compassion is the act of seeing a need and being moved by love into action to actually meet it.
