When Mrs Le Roux invited the rest of the company to join her on a tour of the Scottish Lochs aboard the ship "Nemesis" to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Michaels, the group got more than they bargained for. After some of the finest tea and cake to ever pass their lips (do visit the Lock House Tea Rooms if you get the chance, Trent Lock) the party embarked on a cruise of the glens by boat.
| At this time Mrs. Le Roux was approached by the skipper, their old associate Professor Wilson in disguise. He and Mr. Lacey were traveling incognito while scouring the glens in search of a relic lost many years ago in the Napoleonic wars. It appears that one Angus Fraser, a local in the Loch Naw area, was entrusted as a guard to a precious stone known as "The Morning Star" which had vanished after the sacking of the fort in which it had been hidden. Returning to the land of his birth, Fraser had bough a cottage and lived out the rest of his life as a virtual recluse. |

![]() A serious faced Lord Brocket takes the Scottish air |
On
his death bed 5 years previously his last words had been "Lucifer
has caught up with me, the guilt, the guilt", Professor Wilson taking
this as a direct reference to "The Morning Star". In the absence
of Dr. Staunton, Professor Wilson explained his need for this flawless
diamond as best he could, making reference to the preservation of his
deceased wife and to his forced alliance with the D'Beers company and
Mr. Rhodes of South Africa. It seems that his direct involvement due to
being saught by a variety of government and international agencies prevented
him making further enquiries while the local magistates daughter, Mrs.
Athana Le' Loux, would provide far easier access to regional property
and local facilities. Having purchased a painting from the croft of Angus
Fraser (view
here) he showed the party a mark on the reverse indicating
that a tree on one of the local estates could well be of specific interest.
Despite the reservations of Professor Petrie, the group agreed to help
him as best they could to facilitate the eventual well being of his lady
wife.

Having dropped the party by boat they journeyed along the side of the loch (encountering enraged cattle and a sea of nettles, all manner of wildlife and local populace) until they reached the tree in question. Professor Petrie began to dig while the others spoke to the local land owner who informed them that the tree had been struck by lightening some years ago and the severe branches turned into a lectern and cross at St. Andrews church. Leaving the Professor, the group (Buffy, The Brigadier, Athena and her brother Hector, Lord Brocket and the rest) journeyed to the small Scottish chapel in question.

Upon hurried investigation by all, an unusually new looking grave was found and suspicious annotation in the Parish Records during a period of transition between ministers some six years previous. Professor Petrie was summoned and the party debated their next move. In a daring bout of nocturnal grave robbery, they exhumed a coffin containing a heavy tin box that was delivered, after much deliberation, into the hands of Professor Wilson and Mr. Lacey. |

![]() Once again, the Company proved it's legendary capacity for tea and cake |
During their return they happened upon Athena's gamekeeper involved in fraudulent activities, poaching her own stock, and were forced to deal with the situation. Breaking open the box and taking the gem he needed, Wilson left the group on the shore of Loch Naw with the remaining stones and his begrudged gratitude; mentioning that if they need him, Dr. Staunton had the means to contact him. |
