| That winter the young ladies went to Paris to see the collections, whilst there they went out for the day to the country, walking in the forest they were pursued by wolves, missed the stage coach back, stayed out all night and, finally, Athena was bitten by a bat (not scratched by her broach pin at all) during the night. |
Gaston had adventures in America, including narrow escapes from red Indians, and met with a strange lady heavily veiled and clad all in black who told him wondrous stories. |
