Good
friends Mr. Rudyard and Mrs. Kipling and their young friend, plus
Captain Francis Solomon and music hall artiste Miss. Emmeline De'
Stacie, joined Reverend and Mrs. Michaels and close company friends
at the theatre in the heart of the lace country. Mrs. Petrie and
Miss. Wadsworth were in good health, as was Dr. Staunton. Lord Brocket
complained once more that the muse was not upon him having suffered
troubled sleep and finding it impossible to write.
The
Cala Rosa Troop entertained members of the Company with a rousing
manly piratical chorus, cowardly stern faced Peelers, the very pattern
of whiskered Major Generals and a bevy of giggling enchanting damsels
in Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Sullivan's fine comic opera, The Pirates
of Penzants.
The
Company adjourned to enjoy a sumptuous and plentiful Raj platter
and to discuss pleasantries and the sad news regarding Lord Buffington.
Company
and Friends seen above: Rev. J. Micheal, Mrs. Emerald Micheals,
Dr. A. Staunton, Miss. Emmeline De' Stacie, Sir. Rudyard Kipling,
Captain Francis Soloman, Miss. Emily Wadsworth and Lord Arthur Brocket.
