Q. How did God get his Name & why & what does it mean?
A. The word "God" means "superhuman being worshipped as having power over nature and human fortunes".  Ever since the beginning of time people have felt there was something or someone "higher" than themselves in control or charge of the universe.  The Bible tells us in particular about how Jews and Christians have encountered this superhuman being over time, and what this superhuman being has told them.  Perhaps the most amazing thing the Bible tells us is that "God", who is the creator of the whole universe, actually "came down to earth" and became a part of His creation 2000 years ago through Mary and Joseph.  On earth, He was given the name "Jesus" because an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream at night and told him to give the baby this name (Matthew 1:20-21).  Jesus means "one who saves; saviour", and He was given this name because the ultimate job description of God on earth was to save people from their sins and the punishment of hell.

Q. Why is god so important?
A.  God is so important because He created the whole universe (Genesis 1:1) and therefore He is in control and also has all the instructions about how to live properly!  He is also so important because every single human being will appear before God on the Day of Judgement and will have to give an account of everything they have ever done - good or bad (Matthew 12:36).

Q.  Why was this person named god Why not any one else?
A. Actually, people through history have called lots of things or beings a god!  Some people even worship the sun as a god!  But in the Bible, the Being that Christians call God actually spoke to people and told them that only He is god - not the sun, or moon, or any other thing or person in the universe.  And to prove this, the Christian God did many great signs and miracles showing that the other so-called gods are not gods at all (cf Exodus chapters 7-12; 1 Kings 18:16-46).  Jesus was God in the flesh, and all His miracles, His character, and power over nature proved that He was God.

Q.  Is god with us when we go to the toilet?
A.  God is everywhere! (Psalm 139:7-10).  So yes, He is with you in the toilet!

Q.  Why did you sent the check to the Blind Association when it is helpin someone with knocked knees?
A.  Good question!  That is because Christian Blind Mission International helps people with nearly any disability in the world's poorest countries.  The organisation started out helping people who were blind in poor countries, but in the same places where people were blind, there were also many other disabilities.  That's why they expanded their work to help others as well!

Q.  Why doesn't god talk back to you & Why doesn't he use his magic powers to stop Bad People.
A. God already has spoken to us in the Bible!  Answers to many many questions we have are already written there!  But when you pray to God, and then spend time in quietness to listen, often thoughts come into your mind from your heart, and these are often God speaking to you!  If these thoughts give you peace, if they match general principles in the Bible, and if circumstances seem to match as well, you can be pretty sure it was God speaking to you from your heart!

God sometimes uses his "magic powers" to stop bad people.  Actually, the Bible teaches that no-one can do anything without God letting them do it!!  That means that if bad happens, God has actually allowed it for a purpose - even if we don't understand it.
But God has also created us with a free will.  That means that to some extent we can make our own choices in life, and that also means we must suffer the consequences of those choices if we make bad ones.  But praise God that He is so good that He never lets things get too far "out of control"!
One final thought: what is "bad"?  Remember, from God's perspective even the slightest wrong thought is "bad".  If  God was to really stop all badness, He would have to destroy us all.

Q. What happens to the oson layer when people cut down trees.
A. Trees contribute to converting carbon dioxide in the air into oxygen.  If there are less and less trees overall on the earth, there will be less oxygen produced, not only for us to breath, but also to help form the ozone layer around the earth (ozone is formed naturally in the environment when ultraviolet rays from the sun act on oxygen in the air, and I think this helps form the ozone layer).  That means if there are less trees, there could be less ozone.

Q. Why is the devil bad
A. As far as we know, the devil was originally "Lucifer, the bright morning star", a very glorious angel in heaven.  But when he became proud, and wanted to become like God, that was the beginning of the end for him, and he became bad, and was kicked out of heaven. (Read Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17)

Q.  How can we make the devil good
A.  Unfortunately, the Bible doesn't give that as an option.  The Bible tells us that the devil will be thoroughly bad for the rest of time.  Nothing can change him.

Q.  When we cry doses God or Jesus cry with us.
A.  The Bible says that when God saw all the wickedness on the earth in the time of Noah, He was grieved that He had made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain (Genesis 6:6).  When Jesus saw Mary and others weeping at the death of her brother Lazarus, He was deeply moved and troubled, and He also wept (John 11:35).  So I think God or Jesus cries with us when we cry.  The Bible says: "Mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15).

Q. Why is Tahniesha so silly?
A.  I didn't know Tahniesha was silly!  :-)
