What to do to get delco injection on your vk efi! (IN PROGRESS)
  1. Lock Dizzy (Link: How to lock dizzy) - note - this will have to be updated - it's better to make a lock shaft for the vacuum advance, rather than tacking a plate to it, as the vac advance should be movable to get the screws in to screw the advance/coil plate onto the dizzy!

  2. Get a VL TPS, and drill the pop rivets out to be able to remove the outside case. Remove the side metal parts going to the base connector of the TPS, cut the wires going out the side of the TPS (leaving some length), and join the cut wires to the pins for the base connector (This is to avoid a 2-connector solution with 1 connector unused.)
Image one shows the VK efi TPS, and the VL TPS side-by-side. Image two shows the VL TPS cut and ready for wire soldering.

  3. Now that the TPS is sorted, we need to make an adapter plate, so that we can bolt the VL TPS to the plate, and the plate to the throttle body.

  4. We've now set up the TPS. We now need to look at wiring. We need the VL TPS, a connector from a VL for the tps, with some length of wire coming from it (or you could get a new connector...), and 2 injector plugs with extra wire (or once again, new connectors, and some new wire.)

  5. Next, we unwind the tape from the Camira harness, to access the joins for the existing injector wires. We connect (solder, or another connector, etc) our new injector wires to here.

  6. Find the camira TPS plug (sensor connected in image), and cut the wires, and join on your modded VL TPS.

  7. Extend the ignition module and coil wires to reach the position of dizzy and coil.

  8. To install the IAC (rough way, currently testing how this goes...) - grind down the pintle edges of a VN IAC so that it goes in the VK TB's idle control hole and still seats. Bolt angled (bent to suit) pieces of sheet metal to the TB bolts so that you have something to mount the VN IAC to. Add something to put between the IAC and the idle screw mount to adjust the positioning of the sensor for full range.

  9. The MAT sensor is a slightly smaller thread to the ones in the VK manifold's plenum. The easiest non-intrusive way to bolt it in is to wind some thin galvanised wire around the MAT sensor's thread. It's best to secure the thread to the bolt with some kind of glue to ensure that the wire 'thread extender' doesn't stay in the manifold if the sensor is removed later on. Once the wire is on the sensor, get some thread tape and wrap it around the sensor's thread (in opposite direction of tightening), and install the sensor. Make sure after doing this that there is no vacuum leak.

  10. The VN or camira oil pressure switch needs to be incorporated to keep the fuel pressure up when the oil pressure is up. To retain your dash light, you can use the VN or camira sensor's dash light output, but if your car has the oil pressure gauge, you'll need to run a T-piece so that both sensors can be used.

  11. Shorten the wire to the 02 sensor to suit the sensor's position. If using a heated 02 sensor, you should add the necessary wires for power (and sometimes ground) to the same length.

  12. More to come...
