Who is the staff of the Columbus Baptist Association?

Jimmy Blanton has been the Associational Missionary for the Columbus Baptist Association since August of 1995. He came to the CBA from the First Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia where he was the Senior Pastor. After growing up in Opelika, Alabama he graduated from Mobile College with a double major in Religion and Psychology and then attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary graduating with a M.Div. in Pastoral Ministries. He is married to the former Anita Liveoak from Millbrook, Alabama. Anita and Jimmy have two daughters, Angela Hutchens who is married to Bruce and Ashley who is a student at CSU. Jimmy is a member at Gentian Baptist Church and is active in the outreach ministry of the church as well as the prayer ministry. In his spare time he enjoys riding bikes along country roads and walking in the woods.

Steve Dyess has been the Director of Church and Community Ministries for the Columbus Baptist Association since March of 2000. He came from the Bible Broadcasting Network, where he was station manager in Columbus, Georgia and Knoxville, Tennessee. Steve was pastor of churches in Louisiana and Texas. He graduated from Louisiana College, with a major in Biblical Studies and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a major in Biblical Studies. Steve has been married to his wife Betty for 20 years. They have one daughter, Rachel, who is a freshman at The Baptist College of Florida. He is a member at Beallwood Baptist Church. JoAnn Gordon has been the Associational Secretary since August 1, 1998. She is a Columbus native and has been married to George Gordon for 29 years. They have two sons, Jeremy and Jason. JoAnn attends Fairview Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for 5 years. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, craft fairs and pre-WWII music and movies.
