Mini-DVD- RAM , DVD- R , DVD- RW

Hitachi was the first company to offer a consumer camcorder which used mini DVD discs to record and playback video. Hitachi has upgraded models from the original mv100 model which used a cartridge dvd-ram disc to a 'caddy' disc design in the mv200 model to a 'holder' disc design in the mv350 and mv380 models. Panasonic also has a model and Sony offers 3 models, dcrdvd100,200,300 using mini DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. See Mini DVD for descriptions.

DVD-RAM disc:

DVD-RAM Video 60min 2.8GB 80mm (8cm) media for use in DVD-RAM video camera can record up to 30 min per side for a total of 60 min.
