8cm miniDVD disc - Hitachi or Panasonic DVD camcorder:

The holder is a plastic top and connected bottom flip open case for the 8cm dvd. There is a gap (open) area in the holder that exposes the disc surface for recording and playback. The holder is inserted into the camera slot (disc eject) on the right side of the camcorder (opposite side of the lcd screen) oriented so that the gap area is towards the front (lens side) of the camcorder with the gap area side of the holder towards the camera body (disc drive). The holder comes with the disc when purchased. To open the holder, you just press both sides of the holder in the appropriate place and flip the cover open.

How to OPEN THE CARTRIDGE of 120mm DVD-RAM / REMOVE THE DISC.
Follow the procedure and precautions outlined below to remove the disc from the cartridge.

Do not touch the recording surface. Fingerprints, dirt, dust and scratches on the recording surface can destroy previously recorded data and prevent recording of additional data.
3. Open the cover with care. If you damage the cover, you my not be able to close it again.
4. Make sure the printed side of the shutter and the printed side of the disc is facing the same side when returning the disc to its cartridge. Also, note the setting of the write-protect tab.
 
5. Use a felt-tipped marker to write on the label. Never stick a new label on a disc.

Store only DVD-RAM disc cleaner and cleaning fluid. Do not use benzene, paint thinner or anti-static cleaners.
7. Always return a disc to its cartridge for storage.
