The most popular dance group in Croatia, Colonia was founded in 1996 in Vinkovci. The name of the group comes from the ancient Latin name of the town Vinkovci (Colonia Aurelia Cibalae).
Boris and Tomislac worked as DJs on the radio, where they were making jingles and as they needed a female vocal they started working with Indira.

The first released single of the group Colonia was Nek' Vatre Gore Sve (1996). They sent it to the radio stations all over the country and the song had great success. Next single was Sve Oko Mene Je Grijeh which hit the national charts and became a huge hit. After that they signed a contract with the record company Crno-Bijeli Svjet, CBS, and made their first album, Vatra i Led (1997) that sold an unbelievable 40 000 copies for the debut album.
Only a year later, on Dora (Croatian song contest for Eurovision), they acheived success with the song U Ritmu Ljubavi that won 4th place. A few months later Colonia won a prize for the song Lady Blue on Melodije Hrvatskog Jadrana (Melodies of the Adriatic Festival). Next single that conquered the fans was Njeno Ime Ne Zovi U Snu. In the yeah 1999 they released the second album Ritam Ljubavi. With numerous concerts in Croatia and abroad and the excellent sale of the album, Colonia became one of the most popular and best-selling groups in Croatia and in the republics of former Yugoslavia, therefore it doesn't come to surprise for the name of their third album Jaca Nego Ikad, 2000, released by Croatian Records.

On the album among others are the songs:

-Budi Mi Zbogom - in the Croatian Radio Feestival it won 2nd place
-Deja Vu - Number 1 on the Asian charts inn 2001, cover version be famous Japanese group Kinki Kids for their album, E, in Japanese the song is called Jonetsu, also won the best act at Melodies of the Adriatic Festival.
- Sexy Body - released on the compilation BOLLWERK, the Nightclub volume 5 by Balloon Records in Austria, 2001

In the Same year for their fans, Colonia organized a big concert in Dom Sportova for 10.000 people.

Their forth album Milijun Milja od Nigdje, 2001, in less than a month, sold more than 50,000 copies and become the best selling album in the Republic of Croatia. It sold in total 300,000 copies in Croatia and around the world. The song Za Tvoje Snene Oci won the GRAND PRIX of Croatian radio festival as well as Hit of the Summer and becomes a huge hit and most performed song in 2001.

To repay their fans and DJ's, Colonia released a special, limited LP edition of the album with the original songs and remixes.

The fifth album Izgubljeni Svijet was released in 2002. It had bonus DVD track with biography, discography, and videos.
With the song Oduzimas Mi Dah, Colonia wins the GRAND PRIX of Croatian Radio festival again and it was the most performed song in 2002. That same year, Colonia best of vol.1 was released and it contains all the hit singles of the group.

In 2003 for the third time in a row, Colonia wind the GRAND PRIX of Croatian radio festival with the song C'est La Vie, the first single from the new album Dolazi Oluja which was released in November 2003. It has 13 songs and bonus multimedia CD with 10 new remixes, biography, photo gallery and the video for C'est La Vie.

Colonia released albums Milijun Milja od Nigdje and Izgubljeni Svjet in Slovakia where it is one of the most popular groups. On the Music Box awards 2003 they won in two categories: best foreign act and best song (Oduzima Mi Dah, Za Tvoje Snene Oci)
They also signed a contract with a record company in South Korea.

In November 2003 the English version of the song Za Tvoje Snene Oci was released by the name A Little Bit Of Uh La La. The text of the song was written by Mary Applegate, known song writer (Celine Dion, Modern Talking, La bouche, No Mercy, Nena)

Through their career, Colonia won many prizes on festivals and was the group of the year on many radio stations and in magazines.

Until now they released 7 albums and 22 singles.
