March 5, 2002 - (Tuesday) I'm back from my great vacation and unfortunately, I'm also back at work!! All good things come to an end.... I had a wonderful time, weather was great up until Weds. and then the cold frigid air came in and was around 25 degrees!! So one day sitting at the pool and the next wishing I had brought my gloves...that's my typical vacation...I bring either rain or cold weather...sheesh!! DisneyWorld was great, lots of many new things there to see. They are celebrating Walt's 100th Birthday! Also played Who Wants to Be a Millionaire at Disney-MGM Studios...nope, I didn't get into the hot seat, but it was fun! One thing about the cold weather, for once, it was nice not walking around those parks and sweating my butt off...
Eating was OK, not great but I was able to manage to have a fantastic salad one night that went down just wonderfully. Then I also found that I could have French Onion Soup, eaten slowly, it was great. I tried ham and ribs and that wasn't a good thing. It was so yummy, but I landed up having to spit them up. Oh well, gotta keep trying. Things have definitely gotten better since the Endoscopy, so I really can't complain. I really have to expand my eating. My food choices have been very limited and I know my slow weight loss this month (only 8.5 pounds, so far, and next Monday (3/11) is my 3rd month anniversary) is because I'm not eating enough. I am going to start to walk on the treadmill (hopefully today if the garage isn't tooooo cold), maybe that will help.
I did have a kidney stone attack when I was away, so I guess it's back to the Dr. this week to see what I need to do about it. I'm trying every day (and winning most days) to get in my 64oz. of water.
I have to get back to work, lunch is over and I will write again after the Dr. on Thursday to report back on my kidney stone situation. Until next time....
March 6, 2002 - (Wedsnesday) Just wanted to report that again, I haven't lost a pound! I only lost 4 pounds while I was away on vacation (I was gone almost 2 weeks) so I started my exercise today. I might start weighing myself only weekly (because this daily weigh-in is upsetting). I just walked on the treadmill in the cooooold garage and it wasn't too bad. My right knee has been hurting me since I returned from Florida (don't know what I did to it) so I just walked one mile. I'm thinking that I was crossing my legs too much!!!! lol Maybe I can walk more later, but I doubt I will. I will vow to walk everyday this week and see if it helps my weightloss. I had pizza for dinner last night (ate only the cheese) and it went down OK. Think I will go heat up a piece for lunch once I drink a little more of my water.
Nothing much to report, I am happy that I walked FINALLY. My expensive treadmill has been sitting idle in the garage for WAY TOO LONG. It's been the catch all for dry cleaning, Christmas presents, groceries, etc. etc. and now it's finally back in business getting my butt in gear. Let's see if the numbers on the scale cooperate with my new exercise commitment....will keep ya posted.....Until next time..
March 8, 2002 - (Friday - WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! TGIF) Ok, so much for the weighing every week...I am down another 2.5 pounds since I returned home from vacation on Monday. So that makes 66 pounds!! Not too shabby for almost 3 months. I'm hoping I lose another 4 pounds to make an even 70 pounds by Monday. Not sure that is possible, but I will try try try. I have been so much better with my water intake since the kidney stone scare!! An update on the Dr. Well I went to the Dr. (seems like I'm there weekly since I had this surgery) and I have to go to a Urologist. So next Weds, not only is it my 3 month post-op visit, I have a follow-up appt. for the Endoscopy doctor and now the Urologist.....what fun!!!!! I'm taking the day off on vacation, and spend the day running from doctor to doctor. I have to say that I'm kinda afraid of the urologist. I'm afraid that there is something MAJORLY wrong (more than the stones)...but right now I feel fine, back to my old self, urine looks fine, no pain, nothing...so ya feel kinda funny running to the doctor with no symptoms and no pain, but when I did have pain the last two times and then couldn't urinate, it was really really painful and upsetting.....so I have to be an adult and get this looked at. Will update on all my doctors after my marathon doctor's visits...
Overall, I have been DISMAL with food. I'm not eating enough and have to step that up drastically. I think if I'm getting in 20 grams of protein a day, I'm lucky...so I'm going to try to have tuna today, some milk and cheese and maybe try some chicken... I might have to supplement with protein shakes and bars to get in the recommended 70-80 grams of protein. I really cannot afford to lose the hair, frankly. My hair is very thin on top and if I lost any, I'd be bald. I'd be like the bald comb-over guy, trying to make a hairstyle out of a few strands...Sheesh, that's upsetting enough, hopefully I will heed the warning and up the protein this weekend. I had heard the prenatal vitamins work fabulous on thinning hair and asked the doctor yesterday for a prescription, he said Centrum is fine. :( That's not what I wanted to hear. I am now going to ask the surgeon about it and see what he says.
I didn't walk yesterday (yes 2nd day of my vow to walk everyday and it's broken) but my knee was KILLING me and didn't feel up to the pounding on the treadmill...will walk today, I feel a little better after I sat with the heating pad on it last night.....
Oh well, that's it for now....until next time.... |
