Band Biography

Greg Jones and Jason McIntosh formed the Collaboration Element in February of 1999. It was formed out of their desire to compose music that is complicated in it's arrangements, and intricate in it's essence. With this goal in mind, they set out to offer something unique to the Christian community. From a musical standpoint, they offer music that is challenging to the musician. Striving for excellence, their music demonstrates that there is no place for mediocrity within the Christian community.

Because the music is instrumental, the band cannot rely on lyrics to convey their message. The band therefore employs scripture voiceovers into the live performance as well as a verbal presentation of the Gospel. Future plans include the possibility of utilizing video monitors during the live performance to get the message out. The Collaboration Element refuses to compromise the Gospel message.

Jason and Greg met about 8 years ago. From that time on, they have played in numerous bands together. Jason McIntosh is currently the P&W leader for the youth group at Way of the Cross Church. Greg Jones has served as a Music Minister at Xenia Christian Center and is currently focusing on a career in music and computers.

On December 28, 2001, Ed Girard joined CE to complete the band. Before Ed's arrival, the band used to perform live with the synth sequencing the bass as well as the synth parts. Ed is a seasoned bass player and is the former member of the Christian progressive rock band, Borrowed Tomb.

The Collaboration Element is the epitome of the collaborators' previous efforts. They feel that every other endeavor has led them to this point. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit they desire to fulfill the Great Commission utilizing the medium of instrumental music....
