Welcome to muddy's third doghouse. The pup is about 6 months old now, and is learning all kinds of neat new tricks!

Around her 6-month birthday, the weather provided us with a little surprise.

Hey Muddy! Get Up, Baby!

So we went out back. When we got there

Hey, dad - what's this white stuff doing all over the place? It's soft and cold and it filled up all of my neatly-dug holes!

Kinda tastes good, though.

Eventually, she got the idea.

a-HA! This "Snow" stuff is for PLAYING

Well, as if a snowy back yard was not enough, Muddy has been hitting Rose Park, a very nice dog-friendly place right near our house, on the border with Georgetown. There, a most momentous occasion occurred this time involving a FRISBEE.

We start with me putting up my right hand and giving the command "HO!", which produces the following:

Then the good part - we throw the frisbee! At first, she just chased after it and picked it up off the ground. But then, right on her 6-month birthday - TOUCHDOWN NINERS! - Her first catch! A red-letter day for sure!

I was completely ecstatic.! Now Muddy, bring it back here! Bring it back! Bring it back!

Hmmm. Looks like this part may take a little longer

Well, with that great success, I thought I should try one more trick. I happened to notice a playground slide nearby

This one was no problem. First I got her to go up;

then I tell her to come down; and there you have it - Muddy the sliding dog!

Well with all that, I got pretty tired. Muddy, however, has no concept of the word, so I'll just let her out back while I give the rundown. The pup at this point weighed about 32 pounds, was very healthy, and fixed. She already had blazing speed, bottomless stamina, and accepted commands (hand signals) from a distance of 50 yards. She's learning many new tricks, and is becoming too smart for my good. In fact, when she gets bored, she's taken to digging in the backy... HEY, CUT THAT OUT!

Well, that's all for this installment. Come back for our next episode, when Muddy takes a long trip, and catches a few more frisbees. 'Till then, why not peruse some Disc Dog sites? Good Luck, and have fun.
