Two Chinas & the Cold War
China had split into two nations. One was Taiwan, which was Nationalist China. The mainland of China, or the Republic of China, had a larger area and was under Communist leadership. The existence of the two Chinas, and the conflicts between their supporters and international loyalties had intensified the Cold War.
As the U.S. & the Soviet Union were facing the Cold War, China were also broke into two sections. The two Chinas were distinctly different in opponents & had different supporters. Although China was just an united country, it looked like separated two countries since the Cold War had begun in China.
