CoESS HISTORY

       In the summer of school year 1996-1997, a class of incoming 4th year Computer Engineering students and Engr. John S. Mateo had organized a co-curricular student organization, which has an aim of uniting and spear heading the computer Engineering students of the University of the East . They based the constitution to some by laws of other student organization with in and outside the University. Which identify them as SOCoES's (Society of Computer Engineering Students) a non-political and non-religious but social-oriented organization. Then on the school year 1997-1998 the chairmanship of the COE Department was now transferred to Engr. Jose Duwi E. Iscala who motivated the 1st batch of CoE students to draft their Constitution and By-laws. The name SoCoES has been changed to CoESS (Computer Engineering Student Society). And before the school year 1998-1999, the first and second batch of CoE students went to a Leadership Training Seminar which gave them the impetus to make CoESS a real organization. Then on that year even not recognized the student body opened the college membership and begun their activities as an organization. Now, CoESS is fully recognized and one of the most dynamic student academic organization in the College of Engineering under Engr. Rowena Arellano and Engr. John Mateo as Advisers.
