Krevolin Takes The First Goat of The Season - 23 April 2006. By CCGA Press Staff Reporter. J. Krevolin took the season's first Goat today while playing a round under the CCGA's Annual Goat Challenge. Krevolin put in a stellar performance on the heels of a sputtering start, filled with pulled-hooks and toe shots, all boding the worst for the day for such a fine golfer. "I just had to hang on through a terrible start to the round," Krevolin mentioned after the round. "I knew I could play better than that and I needed to be patient until I could get into my rhythm. Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. I know my opponent wasn't going to be able to tough it out over the entire 18 holes, so I knew I had a chance." Krevolin was speaking of the simply horrific start--and finish--to the day by her challenger, T. Hawk. Mr. Hawk started the round with a drive duck-hooked into the OB. "What can I say? I'm not proud of my performance," said Hawk. "I was playing hurt, I lost two of my clubs, and my shoes were pinching my feet! How can anyone play under such conditions, I ask you?!!" Lost to tears, Hawk was not reachable for further comments. However, Krevolin was more than willing to continue her monologue in front of reports, gathered at the course for the day's event. "A challenge is a challenge," said Krevolin, "and I took up the challenge and met the challenge head-on! I deserve the credit I am taking and you should give me more. I don't care if my opponent is hurt, had a bad hair day, or broke a nail. I got his Goat! At the end of the day, that is what matters." Both golfers enjoyed a day filled with wonderful sunshine and idea course conditions. Sources close to the opponents said, while Krevolin shot close to her handicap, Hawk really should not have shown up at the course. He did not even come close to a respectable performance and should be ashamed.. Tracked down just as he was leaving the parking lot, Hawk shouted from his car window, "Just leave me alone. I'm taking my balls and going home..." Well, what more can be said? |
