The individuals were required to leave the Air National Guard and enter the Signal Corps Reserve if they wished to fly in the war. | In Vietnam, some 95% of Air Guardsmen were mobilized because of the thinning military services overseas in South Vietnam Persian Gulf War When Iraq seized its oil-rich neighbor Kuwait, President George Bush sent troops overseas to participate in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. 12,000 guardsmen were mobilized into service. |
