What is the American Animal Producers Club? The American Animal Producers Club is made up of many students with an interest in production agriculture. The club focuses on the promotion of beef, sheep, goat, swine, equine, and other aspects of the agricultural industry. Throughout the year, the club takes part in many events to promote the club, the school, and the production of the agriculture industry. While teaching others and learning new things themselves, the members do their best to have fun, enjoy trips to farms and businesses in the livestock industry, and be involved in club-building activities. What events take place in an AAPC year? Throughout the year, AAPC is involved in many activities. In the fall semester, the main focus is the annual Coby Classic All Breeds Beef Sale. During the weekend of the sale, the club dedicates their time to the youth, as well as hosting junior events – a beef show, and also general knowledge and judging contests. Also in the fall, the club supports the New York State Empire Meat Goat Producers Association show, held at the NYS Fairgrounds. As springtime rolls in, AAPC members attend the Maine/New England Beef Expo, where they show off the school’s beef animals, as well as their skills as a showman. As a new addition to our spring activities, AAPC concentrates on the Coby Caprine Classic meat and dairy goat sale – workshops and evaluations add to the events of the weekend. Also, for all those that wish to gather together, AAPC sponsors a themed dance for all to enjoy.
