How deep can you go with player relationships?
MILES: We don't know yet because we haven't had it but because our game is set in the future no-one can really tell what's going to happen in the future. We're very careful not to make anyone look bad.
PAUL: It's kind of subtle. We're not blatantly saying "I hate Stan Collymore," or anything like that. We've tried to do it in a way that means we won't get sued.
MILES: The comments that appear in the game are all things that appear in newspapers week in week out anyway so I don't really see the difference.
Can players have influence over the manager getting the sack?
MILES: Yes, very much so. It all depends on the Chairman's rating. If you have a player revolt and your players are all unhappy then they're not going to be playing to the best of their abilities and that means you're more likely to get sacked anyway and it'll normally come up with 'the Chairman wants a fresh approach to the team'.
Will you have chairmen moving from club to club?
MILES: Chairmen do sell their clubs in the game, and there's no reason why they wouldn't buy another club but there are very few chairmen movements because there are very few chairman movements in real life.
PAUL: I think that's a side that in the future we're going to go into quite deeply. A lot of clubs' fortunes are definitely affected by boardroom problems.
Will certain chairman keep trying to have their say and making decisions for you, like Ken Bates for example?
MILES: They do have stats that replicate that. There's an interference rating in there which is a hidden stat.
PAUL: I don't know if it is hidden actually.
MILES: Then again chairmen do suggest players to buy in the game now, and they also say who they believe are invaluable members of the squad. Also, it comes up if they think someone should be sold. It depends which club you play as.
If you get bids for players and turn them down, will the chairmen step in and say no, we'll accept £10m for such and such?
MILES: The chairman won't say that but the player often will.
PAUL: The chairman will if your club's in financial trouble - he might say you have to accept any reasonable bid for a player.
MILES: I've never have that because my teams are always on a good financial footing. Probably because I did the database and know all the best young players so I can buy them cheap and flog 'em for a fortune.
PAUL: Incidentally, I've made a change in the last two days that makes other clubs far better at finding the best young players...
