In July 1996, a large number of Mauritians arrived in Singapore to pursue their studies in either NUS or NTU. Before that year, there was only a handful of Mauritians who came to study in the country. Since then, the numbers increased exponentially until the year 2000; where there was a significant drop in the number of mauritian students enrolling in the Singapore universities.

A so-called 'mauritian football team' was set-up during the academic year of 1996/97 itself, but we did not play many friendly games as most of the players had more important commitments like Hall activities for the Inter-hall games, Varsity training for the various inter-varsity competitions and Inter-Faculty games. The Mauritian Football Team managed to stay together for 2 years and 1998 saw a huge influx of first year Mauritian students invading the Singapore Universities. For NUS alone, 3 full squad soccer teams could be set-up. This showed the popularity of the sport among the young lads and some of them were really good and talented. From then on, it was indeed difficult and time consuming to conduct trials and the Mauritian Football Team was no more..... until 2003, which saw the revival of the 'dodos' - Club M was born!

1996/97 - 1997/98 Squads
