Winning start to the SunSports Champions League for Club M.

Club M 6-0 Tomo : FT Report

For their first game of the Sunsports Champions Super League, Club M totally ripped Tomo apart. In a game which started with a delay of more than 30 minutes, Club M showed that they can be a real threat to the rest of the teams in the league. With a hat-trick, Anwar Musa is already stating his claims for the Golden Boots Award. The rest of the goals came from Ashvin, Patrick T and a superb free-kick from their ever-present Captain Dickson. However, a blank point was the absence of Club M female supporters, only 1 paid spectator was present to give his vocal support. Most of the Club M squad was present and the absentees were JP and Marc, who is still recovering from an ankle ligament damage.

The match started with Tomo playing with only 7 players and it was no surprise that it took only 6 minutes for Ashvin to open the scoring account for Club M following a mistake by the Tomo keeper. Tomo fell even behind after a quarter of an hour when Anwar and Ravi exchanged passes and our “sharp shooter” rifled past the poor Tomo keeper. Patrick T then added a third goal to add to the misery of the poor chap. Just before half time, Anwar scored the most beautiful goal of the game with a superb right foot volley which the Tomo keeper can only watch in despair going into his net. At half time, the score was 4- 0 and the game was already over at that time for Tomo.

At the start of second half, Tomo started with 11 players and were determined not to let their moral be affected. However, a foolish act by their No.8 forced them to play the remaining game with ten players. The latter rebuked a yellow card from the referee and was seen sending abusive words to the referee. The ref gave him straight-away a red card. He will be suspended for the next 2 games and fined by the Committee. Anwar completed his hat-trick in the 60th minutes with a powerful shot. And Dickson wrapped up the victory for Club M with a free kick from 20 meters similar to what Beckahm used to score for Man Utd. The final score was 6 -0 and it was a warning sign to future opponents of Club M.
