End of the Road...
This Village situated at the nothern boarder of Yala National Park in the
Kumbukkan Oya River basin retains it's wild and "boarder village" character.
The region is dotted with numerous archaeological sites, remains of Ruhunu
Kingdom. During the 3-day Trek we will be spending one night in our Log hut
overlooking the village irrigation Tank, the other at a "Chena", a Field
cultivated by slash & burn method.
The dense Jungles off Kotiyagala are still abundant of
Elephants, Leopards, Crocodiles, Sloth bears and nearly all the species of Wild
Life, that roam the Jungles of the Island.
